Does anyone really struggle at Christmas with all the lovely food that your stomach hates?! I'm already feeling off because of some Christmas food I ate last night. How do you all relieve some of the symptoms such as the excessive gas, nausea (I get nausea when I have loads of trapped wind) sometimes I get worried that Ive caught something when I feel like this but hopefully it's just the usual lovely IBS!
I'd also like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! Thanks for all the support on my posts, it really does help being able to talk to other sufferers!

Merry christmas! I gave in yesterday and ate tons of chocolate biscuits and stollen cake.
There's a lovely lady on youtube who has a good video on some uncommon ways to relieve nausea that may help you: youtube.com/watch?v=gx-HiI9... .
Personally I find chewing on fresh ginger helps, but a more pleasant way is ginger root powder capsules. Ginger aids in nausea and helps to calm gas, this sometimes works for me. I also take 2 buscopan to settle my stomach and decrease bloating which in turn helps relieve nausea. Peppermint capsules of 100mg can act in a similar way to buscopan too and I find it really soothing.
Prevention is key too, eating ginger with your meal, and taking either peppermint oil capsules or buscopan a half hour before your meal can help reduce gas and bloating.
You may also consider a digestive enzyme which will help to digest your food.
Thanks so much for your reply! I will definitely check out the video! I do take buscopan already and digestive enzymes but will try taking the enzymes before food Instead of after. Hope you have a lovely Christmas and thanks again for taking the time to advise me!
Yes, I do.. I Love christmas cake, christmas pudding, chocolates, All the things I love but can’t eat now, dried fruit doesn’t agree with me now.. I suffer from IBS, Diverticulosis, and CKD.. and on a limited diet , I Can eat chicken, turkey, eggs, carrots,
potatoes, No other veg or fruit at all.. Pretty limited actually..
So to answer your question Emmy.. these last two days I have been feeling a bit sorry for myself with not being able to eat festive foods like every one else but never mind😁..
It is Christmas Day as I’m writing this and felt it a lot at lunchtime today...
