Hello i am new to this community but I have recently had a sigmoidoscopy. Everything was clear meaning no samples were taken at all and no biopsies however i have been bleeding and releasing bits of blood with no stool.
I have not released anything apart from mucus and blood. The first time I went to the toilet there was a table spoon full of blood released which alarmed me but i just shook it off i have been to the toilet a couple of times and I keep releasing bits of blood, though the amount has decreased (it's only when i wipe) it is still there over 19 hours later and have also developed some pain in my lower left abdomen which is steadily getting worse!
Should I be concerned? I want to go to A&E to get a scan to see if it is a perforation; it's christmas and I don't want to bother anyone but I am very worried it could be a bowel perforation or rip. If anyone has any experiences like mine it would be very helpful to know!

I think you should go to A&E particularly as you've got abdomen pain worsening and bleeding!. I've had those tests myself without any problems so you really need advice specially as no biopsies taken. Best of luck and keep us posted. X
Thank you for your reply! I am going to go to A&E. Hopefully they'll give me a CT scan and I'll be able to see if there is a rip. I knew it was odd for there to be bleeding without any biopsy or anything taken. Again thanks for your reply and happy holidays!
