Further Reference to Kijimea

There has been a number of posts in relation to a new, to the UK, probiotic product called KIjimea. However I could not find any real feedback.

I read an article about it recently in a magazine , where it claimed to be a unique bacterial strain which attaches itself to the surface of the intestinal wall and forms a protective layer. Furthermore it stated that scientists found possible cause of JBS is small damges in the intestinal barrier. Basically this damage allowing pollutants to enter intestinal wall and triggering IBS symptoms.

Anyway I have bought a pack of this product for about £30.00. Taking the recommended dose of 2 per day would mean this is only a 2 week supply , so expensive to continue taking . A 12 week course is considered ideal. It also however, claims that a noticeable alleviation of symptoms should occur in one week.

As previous posts seem to have drifted on to other issues , I wondered if anyone had actually tried this product over a 12 week period and had any experience of the claims made , or had any other comment to offer.

In the meantime , I will start to use it now for hopefully a two week period. I am reluctant to order more at what I consider to be a little pricey until I know more.

If any has any real experience of this product , I would be grateful to hear from them . I have normally IBS D , but occasionally it can go a bit the other way. It also tends to occur after main evening meal .

Look forward to hearing anything useful.

Hi there Will. I also looked at this product from reading an advert in a magazine and decided not to buy it as I didn't feel that there was enough evidence to warrant the high price tag. I have added below some links from the internet which may be useful.

consumerhealthdigest.com/co...

highya.com/kijimea-ibs-reviews

amazon.co.uk/Kijimea-Treatm...

One thing though, I do hope this works for you.

Hi Alicia,

Thanks for reply and info.

I will try it for a couple of weeks and then post advising , what I find..

It would need to be very positive results to justify the price tag and continued purchases.

Lack of replies , suggests not many people have tried the product .

Thanks again

Will.

You are welcome Will and it's only that I saw an advert in a magazine for it and I got quite excited about buying it. I looked it up online and thought that the very few reviews there were on it didn't warrant me spending that amount of money.

Agree that it looks like there aren't many people who have tried it.

Looking forward to seeing how you get on with it.

I will keep you posted. 3 days , so far and quite encouraged but too early to give any worthwhile indication of whether worthwhile or not.

Thanks for your comments.
