Alflorex -worth a try!

Hi all, I’ve tried probiotics in the past to help with my symptoms of extreme gas, belly aches and bloating and while some have been ok, I think (fingers crossed) I may have struck gold with Alflorex. It’s only been 4 days so things could and probably will change along the way but so far so good. My gas is minimal, probably ‘normal’ whatever that is and my stomach is flat as a pancake! Now it might be that I haven’t eaten a certain food that’s caused a reaction but I was crippled with gas everyday. It’s the most embarrassing, hideous and socially unacceptable condition, I would end up holding my gas all day as not only was it frequent as in every few mins, the smell was putrid! Along with that came extreme belly ache to the point I’d feel I could pass out. I thought I’d give Alflorex a try as I would’ve happily had my bowel removed, it was that bad! After 4 days my stomach feels the calmest it has since I was a youngster, I had forgotten what a free feeling this feels like, no gas and totally flat stomach, I know my Ibs is worse when stressed, and socially I struggle a bit, I had an event last night which I was pretty nervous about and not one belly ache or sign of gas! So I’d say give it a go, it may not work but if it does it’s a godsend!

Great news you found something for you. I get on great with it especially when traveling as it goes in a suitcase where some are liquid. I’m just coming up to taking Alflorex for 5 months now and, with IBS-D take much less Imodium. Good luck to you.

Thanks for your message, I think you could be right, I’ve had a colonoscopy but they had to stop because parts of my Bowel were so narrow, I said to the doctor surely that means something but they think not! Getting diagnosed is just so hard I’ve pretty much given up on it, how was it diagnosed in you?

Sorry I tried it and it gave me really bad depression and mood swings - had to stop it - seems the Infantis strain doesn't agree with me as had it in other probiotics where it has been the majority strain of bacteria and same thing happened - a friend took it and was crippled with pains - took her weeks to get sorted but not without other supplements to correct the problem it had given her - suck it and see is the best advice I can give - it may work it may not
