A seasoned veteran but also new

Hey everyone! I'm new to HealthUnlocked~ The name's Keira. Average mid twenties nerdy artsy aussie female with a love of learning and adventure...which has all had to stop with the growing number of health related issues that have grown. Bit of a veteran with dealing with health declines as I do have Atopic Eczema, Crappy eyesight, perforated eardrum, a weird toe (undiagnosed reason), SVT, Chronic muscle tension (undiagnosed, despite having had for 10+ years).

And yet...I'm also entering a whole new ball game. In the last two-three months the stomach troubles have grown worse...to point I could barely function day to day and, still struggle with it. I've seen doc (which took so much out of me I ended up in tears soon as I got there) and he thinks its likely IBS (but gotta do the ruling out process of course which is what I'm going through)...and tagging right along with it has been a severe increase in anxiety levels to the point leaving the house at all...is a struggle.

Work life doesn't exist. Social life has died, my friends don't understand and no longer invite me out to events...kind of a kick to the gut. I've lost all my independence basically...and nothing seems to help. I've tried mintec, reine, nexium, endep, all without success, and now on Iberogast (At docs recommendation; nasty stuff!) and it seemed to help then slowly started to not help at all. Inner Health Plus and IBS Support probiotics made me worse...

I'm just at a loss by this point.......everything I gotta do: docs, tests, medicines, scans etc involving leaving the house which starts the anxiety which starts stress which kick starts the bowel struggles (mostly D related when this strikes) and so far I do not have anything for my stupid anxiety...

This is the worse I've ever had, to the point I can't do much of anything anymore...and I'm over it...I just want to regain control of my life...I'm already in pain 24/7 from my muscles, itchy and reacting to things 24/7 from eczema...last thing I needed was stomach/bowel pain and troubles ruining anything I ventured out to do nor did I need a high shot of anxiety interfering with my ability to even live a life outside the house...

Ugh sorry for the rant...its all getting to me more and more the longer it goes on. Basically I'm hear hoping to stay in the loop for possible treatments I can try to get the control back, and seeing if anyone can relate... which I'm sure many can to least the IBS/Stomach/bowl issues ^^;

I'll stop there before I ramble too much.

Hey Keira, sorry to hear your having such a tough time of it. I too have a daily struggle with my stomach issues. I’m at a bit of a dead end when it comes to getting better. Work is so tough when feeling so bad.

I’m just glad I’ve fi ally found a doctor that doesn’t just dismiss the problems as ‘period’ or anything, so I’m going through the tests...only hope get some more specific answers...but Yeah, I’m not working and struggle to just leave the house for grocery’s or anything. Working on the fodmap diet for now to try and find some relief...just keeping positive will find something ^^; hopefully! Staying strong, that’s all we can do. I hope you find some relief soon too! Have you tried iberogast? It tastes bad but mixed with a cup of mix (lactose free) can barely taste it and it helps a little for me but maybe it will help!

Hi there keira

Im more or less in same boat, i got diagnosed 6

Months ago but have always had stomach problem.

I ended up in a&e with crippling stomach pains, they couldnt diagnose anything organ related but i was told ibs...

Well i ended up paying to see a bio resonance allergist and nutrionalist which helped massively, it came up had i taken antibiotics as of late i said yes, they said u have got a massive CANDIDA problem, which is when all your good gut bacteria goes and ur left with something called leaky gut ( look it up as some of ur symptoms seem same) it can happen through tablets , antibiotics bad diet...

I was also intolerant to gluten.

So i had to take probiotics, digestive enzyme, peppermint oil caps, and candida tablets!

Also give up sugar( as it feeds candida) and gluten.

Within 1

Month i could tell difference!

I have my life back, i go out with friends.

I still stick to gluten free diet and mainly sugar free.

When i went to back to alergist i had no candida in gut and it was healthy !

How did they test you for Candida? Or was it just from your symptoms? I might need to look into it.

I had a alergy test and spit test and blood test plus i had all the symptoms. U can do a spit test urself u get up in morning and get a glass of water and spit into it( before u eat or drink or brush teeth ) then look on google and see what it will look like if u have it . U have to wait 15 mins. I dont know if that works?

It is a horrible thing to have i never felt so ill, i lost two stone i couldnt eat, i was in constant pain in belly. I was feeding myself all wrong stuff and making it worse ie bread, sugary stuff so id then be in pain again.

I literally eat clean now, all fruit veg and chicken... gluten free sugar free foods ( treat meself now and again) and no milk or butter i have soya.

It works a treat for me.. i think if u got gut issue u need to think about making it a healthy gut! Ie by putting all the good gut flora in to it.. also candida can give u intolerances so u may have intolerances as your gut cannot cope with digesting certain things at mo because the flora is so basd but once u start feeding it good bacteria and beating off the bad ur intolerances may drop slightly to.

I could not eat gluten yeast or dairy but ive startes having a bit of one or other monthly and my gut does not react to it anymore but i would never go back permanently as i feel better not eating it

I've only had the 'possible' diagnosis about a month ago and going through all the tests and such to rule out every thing else first. But docs near certain it is, he's just been thorough which is nice. Think if this next test comes back clear as well then I d the joys of a colonoscopy (yay...) and go from there.

I already have some intolerances like lactose and allergic to certain foods, but am definitely due for an allergy tests to update it so that's definitely on my list! I am doing the fodmap diet and cutting back on gluten just to trial it. Have found a difference but only in some areas, others seem to make it worse so IDK X'D

Due to eczema and asthma I've had so many medications, antibitoics etc I would not be surprised if those were the cause of this. Hopefully that'll be on the tests to do lists and get some answers.

So happy to hear they found an answer and you've been able to get your life back on track cause of it! That's great news and really reassuring that there is light at the end of the tunnel! ^-^

Thanks for your input~

If u have had alot of tablet and antibiotics it highly likely ur gut flora is more or less knackered!

So u really need to make it healthy again, it hard but even if u give urself a month see if it helps u if it does u know what it is.. that how i thought of it..

I literally felt better within two weeks, my husband was amazed!

I went from being doubled over in pain after eating or him talking to me through a toilet door all night to me being back at the gym within two weeks, i looked healthy my hair and nails and skin look great. I actually look younger
