VITAMIN D - its use for IBS and depression

Vitamin D - this seems to have a beneficial effect on IBS - do try it. Get tested at the doctors for your levels. I found I was severely deficient. It causes depression if you do not have enough too. Do start of slowly the doctor put me on too high a dose and I fekt a bit sick but once I got to the normal dose - 10 micrograms a day at first and then ten micrograms every other day this seems to have helped with the depression and helps withe the bowel . There are lots of links on the web to IBS and vitamin D (must be D3 if possible though - check the label). You can get too much so be wary of large megadoses - but 10 micrograms doesn't seem to hurt. I manage on that every day in the winter and every other day in the summer. As the skin makes Vitamin d in the sunlight.
