IBS hypnotherapy

My partner has been suffering from IBS for 3/4 years. She has had every test known to humanity and tried various diets including FODMAP. But the problem remains and is extremely distressing and spoiling her life. She is seeking to try hypnosis as a last resort. Does anyone have any advice or recommendations?

Bloating, abdominal pain, feeling 'awful' before and after defecating. Some constipation. She has had every test and consultation available. Colonoscopy, endoscopy (throat-wise) and various trials of diets. All inconclusive. Thank you for your interest.

Hi there, I soak around a rounded dessertspoon of linseed (same as flaxseed) in around a 3rd of a mug of water for an hour and then drink, this works for me for constipation and for pain (I've only just worked out that it is also good for pain). Also worth looking at the diet i.e. I know for certain that I cannot eat raw carrots, raw or cooked onions, sweetcorn or dates. I'm also now following a Lactose free diet as I'm sure that is also another thing I cannot tolerate. I also think caffeine is a problem with me so am now caffeine free.

Very best of luck to your partner and I hope that they find something that works. We are all different so what works for one may not work for another.

We have just found out that University College Hospital (NHS) in London offers NICE recommended hypnotherapy for IBS. My partner is in the process of making an appointment right now.

Sorry to hear that she is struggling - have not tried hypnotherapy but would like to as well as acupuncture I think an holistic approach is important I just can't afford these treatments at the moment. Do you think stress/anxiety is a factor? I can recommend counselling, meditation and Mindfullness also breathing techniques lots of stuff on YouTube to try x
