Hi! I have had IBS for thirty years and hassle loads of tests but just recently have had a lot of right sided pain and bloating and just feel weird in my stomach. Has anyone else experienced it and I always wake with a raw feeling in my stomach. Can anyone identify with this?

Hi... I'm 50 and I too have had IBS for 30 years. I sort of had it under control until about 2 months ago when I had a massive flare up including similar symptoms to you .. a bubbling brook in my lower right intestine !! So uncomfortable ... as well as other symptoms. Went to doc and was speeded thru the process of seeing a gastroenterologist, then colonoscopy 2 weeks ago. They and I convinced I had IBD.. or worse (bowel cancer in my family) but thankfully all clear. So putting it down to IBS flare up. Not much I can do .. manage diet and stress and I've just started taking Aloe Vera Juice ... supposedly really good. I sympathise with you... all very distressing ... but I'm determined to be mentally strong. Hope you're ok .
I have had IBS for 5 years now. My pain has always been on the lower right side close to my appendix. I can't seem to get my IBS under control this whole time. I have done the diets, medications, Hypnosis, Acupuncture nothing seems to work for me. I hope you have better luck.
I was diagnosed with ibs 25 years ago after a series of tests but have managed to keep it under control until 2 years ago . I went through a very stressful period for about a year and this has set off my Ibs big time. Had a load of tests again convinced that something else was wrong as the symptoms were really bad. Very painful on rich side. Pain under right rib, bad bloating that wouldn't go away, very tender constant pain around belly button, fatigue, spots, rashes, palpitations, dizziness...it was horrendous. Now been told it is ibs and have been keeping a food diary for 6 months and have now found that I have developed a lot of food intolerances' to a range of things I ate a lot and having to drastically change my diet now. It is helping but is hard going and I have quite a few setbacks. I am taking alverine from the doctors and this has definitely helped with the bloating. It took a lot of changing medications to find something that helped and after changing to a new doctor finally got the help I needed and was taken seriously that I. Needed help. You just assume that you can carry on eating and drinking the same things you always have and don't realize that when you get to middle age this can all change. It is hard but you can get it under control a lot better with time. Stress makes it worse and this is a big battle for me.
