Diverticulitis

Anyone got any advice regarding diverticulitis......is it mainly a diet thing ?

see your doctor ,diverticulitis is not just a diet problem,my father suffered from it for yrs and he had a flare up every four weeks without fail we knew to the day it would make itself known his diet was very strict due to other problems, so we knew it was not diet related it is a common problem but medical advice from a doctor or dietitian is best, my friend also suffers from this and his diet is very good and varied but controlled as in the amount he eats. his flares up regularly and he is padded up at all times, best get professional help.

Everyone is different I was diagnosed with diverticular sacs 10 years ago but I am very pleased to say that I do not seem to get any noticeable flare ups. I am well aware that I could get an infection so will be visiting my GP if that happens. Diet? well make sure you don't get constipated. I do use a lot of garlic as its a natural antiseptic and I drink a full glass of water with a slice of lemon(cleanser) in the evening. Just listen to your body and if you feel anything is amiss and it gets worse see your GP. Good Luck
