Is it connected with grief?

I haven't had a bad attack for about a year now but the day we had to say goodbye to our little old dog the IBS came back with a vengeance. It's been about 10 days now and is not responding to Mebeverine (Colofac) I saw a nutritionist/ therapist who did testing for various things years ago - went gluten free and it did calm down so I am thinking do I just have to go through it ?

Oh Annie I'm so sorry you had to say goodbye to your dog. No wonder your IBS returned. I think self compassion and loving kindness may help. I think it's the grief you have to go through. Allow yourself to grieve, look after yourself as well as you can, be gentle with yourself and drink plenty of water. Best wishes, Sue

Hi Annie I'm so sorry for your loss , grief hits us hard and it takes time to work through it. Also it's early days. What would you say to a friend in these circumstances? Kind words I'm sure and that's just what you need , kindness to yourself. A great big self hug might help and  don't be afraid to cry, crying can be cathartic and help with excepting of your loss.daft as it might sound talk to your little dog

I lost my old cat last year and it was only when I started talking about him and remembering the things he did, his habits and our chats that I started to except he was gone. I think of him now a. year on and his memory/ memories make me smile.

You will be in knots right now ,the pain will ease as will your IBS

Hugs
