If you have a problem with dairy products...

Although most of my symptoms are under control thanks to taking Phenergan at night, I still have a slight problem with cows' milk and whilst doing an online search for more info, I came across several references to A2 milk - something completely new to me - and have been glued to my screen for the past hour reading up on it:

a2milk.co.uk/a1-protein-int...

If you have medically-diagnosed lactose intolerance this won't be for you as it contains a normal amount of lactose. However, only 5% of the population of the UK are actually lactose intolerant whilst 20% are intolerant of the A1 protein instead.

For anybody out there with any or all of the usual IBS symptoms, this has got to be worth following-up. I plan to start a trial run with A2 milk next week, it's available at all of the major supermarkets.

I wanted to try A2 milk but when I tried a little bit, my IBS kicked in immediately with tummy tightening as I subconsciously worried that I might get a reaction. Would be interested to see how other IBS sufferers respond to trying the product.

Hi roise , I didn't really notice much different from having the a2 milk myself but I do think its to early to say probably need to try it for a few weeks really. How did you find the a2 milk , have you notice any difference ?

Regards Katie

Yes, I've noticed some difference inasmuch as I can tolerate milky drinks better. I still have a little bloating after dairy but not so bad. Give it a bit longer and see how things go.

Hey Rosie,

I had good results on the phenergan, but made me super sleepy. After a bad day with my anexiety I went to the doctors, enough was enough, he put me on a low level beta blocker called propranolol.... Works a treat. I have had normal bowel movements (touch wood) now for a few weeks.

My ibs was defiantly anexiety related. I hope to be in this good space for a while now and maybe my gut can heal a little, and then I can look into really treating the anexiety with some natural remerdies, meditation etc, but working with the pills also.

Glad you are doing well too.

Ps? I have a problem with dairy also, but am using almond milk and arla milk at the moment. Xx

Thanks very much for this info, will certainly take a look. It's always interesting to know what methods other people adopt.

So glad you've found something that works for you.

I found that the morning-after effects of Phenergan only lasted for about a week although I still get a great night's sleep with it.
