Loosing job
Hi Becca, I understand it can be scary. I too have had fears about losing my job, however i have sat down with my manager and explained about my condition and she's been really accomodating. It sounds as though your work are trying to help you with your condition, rathe rthan trying to get rid of you. Try and view it as a positive step rather than a negative one. If you have a health condition they have to make reasonable accomodation for you. This may be letting you have more breaks or perhaps letting you work part time, or giving you some time off. Are you from the UK?
Hi,
Yes, I've had a lot of time off work recently and had a meeting with occupational health earlier this week, they are understanding and will do everything they can to accommodate, but it is still difficult, my symptoms are so unpredictable in when they strike and how long they last that it's difficult when I can't go in as I can't give them a good indication when I will be back in. It does sound like they are trying to support you which is great, so I wouldn't worry, talk it through and give them as much information as you are able and think of what can be done to help you at work. With an acknowledged long term condition they should be accepting of some time off when it can't be avoided. They shouldn't be able to just fire you, somewhere like Citizens Advice can provide detailed information if it would help, but it sounds like they're going through the proper process that will make things better for you - best of luck.
Yes i had to take several days leave after 7 days off in about 6 weeks my boss pulled me aside and had a chat. They would start charging me for my sick days. So that's what happened. I realised doing a desk job and spending all my money on the doctors and paying for my sick days was not worth it. I jumped job to job then decided to end office work and finally doing lots of part time jobs at my own schedule which has helped so much with my illness
You are not in the US? Here they are not allowed to do that, if you have a verifiable disability. But I can sort of guess you are not in the US, so I'm no help, sorry
