I read somewhere that you only need to concentrate on something else for 30seconds to help break the panic/anxiety cycle. When you think of it like that it doesn't seem like such a big deal! Obviously it's not as easy as it sounds otherwise we wouldn't get in the state you describe. So my advice is to find a distraction as soon as you feel yourself starting to panic. Good luck

Hi puffball the latest talking therapy approach is going with more acceptance than distraction. The minfullness act is about accepting what you cannot change and basically saying so what. Again, like you said, much easier said than done. Good luck :o) x

My son will bite his thumb or inflict pain in another way to distract himself. Seems to work for him.
