Fodmap diet, should I? Recipes, books, help and advice please.

I've been thinking of doing the fodmap diet for a few weeks now, since my last flare up but I'm not sure I want to lol! I'm not as bad as I have been in the past, I have d first thing and then solid the rest of the day. I have terrible rumbling wind and that is usually smelly and I'm letting off pretty much all day - this is so embarrassing!!!!

My question is - is the diet really hard to follow, is there enough food to chose from that is not expensive(was gf for a year and it was really expensive) and meals are easy to prepare(I have a hubby and 2 kids to feed too)

Is the food enough to keep energy levels up? - i exercise most days and I'm on my feet all day for work.

Any good books, recipe or other that would help?

Or just any advice would be great x

Hi. I would say do it! I have done the first elimination phase and am now on the re-introduction phase. I am so much better. I did it with the help of a dietician and she gave me loads of tips to make it easier. I now know that if I am in a 'flare up' situation I can go back to the elimination phase and feel great. Just need to know what my triggers are now. There is loads of info out there on the net but just be careful as some conflict each other. If you can do it with the help of a dietician DO IT! Xx

Me again - I just realised I didn't really answer your question. Look at the Monash University website - just google Monash University Low FODMAP diet. They have an App as well which is well worth the £6.99. That gives you recipes and tells you all the things you can and can't have. I have found it really easy but my husband ca't get his head round it! Happy to give you more help if you want it.

It's not that hard and not more expensive than what I usually eat. Just have to be diligent reading labels, so eating whole foods on the low FODMAPS is easier in the long wrong. Got a good cookbook from Amazon. Very effective and eye-opening!
