Hello Maryelle , Yes I did I had a colonoscopy to rule out IBD and because I didnt have that she ruled that I had IBS. If they don't find anything and they have ruled out celiac disease usually by blood test then they say you have IBS. I hope your tests go well and you get good results. Good luck

Oh right ok, do u still have symptoms then even though you have cut gluten out? and im sorry to hear that hope they have helped you with the gluten free diet I know its very tricky i've tried it so many times for IBS and it's not cheap!

Hi maryelle. The colonoscopy is more to rule out other problems than to diagnose IBS. I also had a barium enema x-ray which rules out other problems too. It is only when they can rule out quantifiable diseases that they say it is IBS.

hi i just looked up plexusslim its a weight loss product. this is an excerpt from an article i read it might be of interest to someone considering taking this. would be cautious with Plexus Slim if you have any problems with your heart, blood pressure, kidneys, liver, mental disorders, diabetes or digestive problems. I would not recommend Plexus Slim if you had bariatric surgery either. To their credit, the makers of Plexus Slim do say to see your doctor first if you are pregnant. I agree with this.as its a weight loss product, Trisha from Ireland.

Hi,

I agree with others. IBS can't be diagnosed with a colonoscopy as they call it a 'functional disorder' rather than a disease. In my case, when I had my first colonoscopy, they found 7 (I think) pre-cancerous polyps as well as some benign ones. These were cauterised during the colonoscopy (no pain afterwards) except for one large benign one which was too large. (they said they will monitor to make sure it isn't causing a blockage)

Because of this, I had to have a repeat the following year. They found 4 new pre-cancerous ones. The year after that, none - so they gave it a 2-year gap. I have another on 3rd October. I was told by the person that phoned me from the hospital that if there are none this time, it is likely the consultant will give me a 5 year break.

Like others have said, colonoscopy is generally done for IBD diagnosis. peerdiagnosis.com/can-gas-c...

Good luck Trish,

The worst part for me is the fasting beforehand. No discomfort afterwards.
