Well, a difficult question. Wales certainly needs more focus and direction from the WG and this i believe should be done by the Minister. Both Edwina and her Successor to to ramp up the support and funding issues. Wales' Cancer policy is stagnant and needs some considerable direction. It shouldnt be left to the Charities - why do we pay our taxes?
Can a Cancer Tsar do this - similar to Mike Richards in England? I'm not sure. If the person has relative freedom to carry out the role and 'bang some heads together' at the WG, then certainly yes. Perhaps a closer look would be needed and the persons exact role and what levels of involvement would they have
