Anyone have depression before Active TB diagnosis?

Hello - I have very recently been diagnosed with active TB but have been unwell since November with anxiety and depression. Has anybody else been poorly BEFORE diagnosis with their mental health? I started my TB Medication today and hoping I’ll feel better when it’s had a chance to kick in. Many thanks for any advice.

No I didn’t have anxiety before TB but I did afterwards. It may take some time to feel well as it’s very individual to each of us, but the main thing is you have now started your treatment and on the road to recovery!

Hello hott choc we are still hear then. No wonder some of us are either depressed or anxious. many of us feel anxious and that no doubt is the automatic self preservation feature of us humans 'kicking in'?Some of my doctors ' may well not like it' but I told them , some of my doctors are the very reason that I am anxious and at some times depressed. Is it any wonder when they are the cause of my anxiety and depression?

Lumbered with all sorts of adverse goings on which is not conducive to health must be met with a challenge I feel.

If throughout a persons life, that individual eats sensibly and does all they can to keep healthy and in my case 'fit' is it any wonder resentment ensues if treatment is not forthcoming if and when it is needed?

I had to smile because a doctor reported the other day -this fit 80 year old..... I realised because I 'looked fit' I was 'fit'. That doctor although I wager is a good doctor he is of the crowd of doctors who by misconception thinks a person is fit, on no other assumption other than the fat that he or she is verticle. i.e. not lying down =ill! That doctor however is a more truthful doctor compared to another I saw a couple of months before who is quite possibly a liar.

At the beginning I use to have but now I am fine. You’ll be fine after some time don’t worry

Yes I did have anxiety and also find my fingers shaking sometimes

Yes, many of my doctors give me depression . This is mainly because they do not listen to what I'm saying to them. Some of them will never change!
