Stooping to Pick Up a Pill ...
But then -- there it is, my precious
Zytiga
, the pill of the gods, $120 apiece on the open market, the mud-colored pearl that keeps my cancer at bay, now bearded weird with bunny dust.

Guess I can't lurk forever
Lupron all 2018-9, added
Zytiga
+ prednisone in December 2019. Need pain meds for pain from rib fractures early 2019, learning to balance need for them with supplements to avert constipation they cause. I am in the Kaiser health system.

Penis pump - no effect :-( Any experience/advice?
I got on Eligard and
Zytiga
+pred. right away and currently I am undergoing radiation to prostate (AND the 3 pelvic bone metastases - I challenged them to do so and they agreed due to my young age).. Anyways... PSA has dropped steadily since: 90->33->3.0->2.1 (start day radiation March 4th).

I have been taking Lupron and
Zytiga
with prednisone following a Divinci prostatectomy since June 2019 and my PSA remains undetectable. Dear wife, children, and MO all say to be thankful for the results so far and enjoy life.

Vaxchora and other year ends news
I had no side effects from the drug, which is a live virus oral vaccine I remain PSA undetectable, 18 months, and 6 months after I stopped Lupron/
Zytiga
. The bad news is that the prednisone taken with
Zytiga
apparently controlled my “radiation colitis.”

Some good news today On PSMA SCAN
Scholz, wanted to hit it hard an early so I did four sessions of chemo,
Zytiga
, Lupron, SBRT radiation on the three mets, metformin, simivastin and for good measure I added Zometa and Celebrex (which together was proven to reduce deaths by over 20%).

Car-t vs regeneron vs Lu177
I had a long conversation with Dr Drake today regarding my treatment options for mCRPC after having failed xtandi and
zytiga
, and after recently finishing chemoRx with progression on my latest scans.

Follow-up...and perhaps hope for us all
Been on ADT and
Zytiga
for 11 months to hopefully cleanup anything that may remain. PSA has been undetectable since the treatment for recurrence began last January. All things considered, I feel great and am hopeful that that just maybe we got it this time.

First PSA rise in three years, watch for doubling time? Or look into scans?
And another question, should he go for another line of systemic such as Abiraterone (
zytiga
). I apologize for all of the questions, but we have been coasting for the last three years (and feel very lucky) and I feel we must be prepared for the future.

Lung biopsy experience?
I started
Zytiga
a week ago. The cancer has spread to my lymph nodes. I also have 4 small spots in my lungs, largest 1 cm, initially they said it was my prostate cancer. Doc said “what else can it be”? My bone scan was negative.

Disease progressing after chemo. What now.
Xtandi and
zytiga
have failed. Had chemo with docetaxil and carboplatin this summer, 6 cycles. PSA went from 18 to 6.8. Last chemo was October. PSA now 20 with evidence of progression in lymph nodes and bones. Lungs and liver clear. Need to decide next treatment. Would appreciate any advice.

Severe joint pain while on Zytiga + dexamethasone + temazepam (for insomnia from dexamethasone) along with xofigo and xgeva
After taxotere, then 1-1/2 years doing very well on Lynparza +
Zytiga
+ Prednisone + Xgeva, PSA went up (last July - 5 months ago) so stopped Oliparib and switched steroids to dexamethasone (higher, 4mg. doses at first, now tapered down to 1mg) and added Xofigo for widespread bone mets.

Zytiga shipment by ground only??
My latest delivery of
Zytiga
from Optum (previously Briova Rx) included an odd insert along with the other paperwork: "
Zytiga
Tablet is classified by the U.S. Department of Transportation as having sufficient physical hazards that limit it to ground shipping only."

Docetaxel 6 cycles, should it be extended to 10 cycles?
MO never discussed this, the plan is to start
Zytiga
immediately after 6 cycles.

Zytiga (abiraterone acetate) vs Xtandi (Enzalutamide)
Myers being cautious regarding
Zytiga
vs Xtandi. He said that he generally preferred Xtandi because he said in 25 percent of the cases
Zytiga
could aggravate the cancer.

What are your thoughts about adaptive therapy for Prostate Cancer?
The patients were put on the drug abiraterone, or
Zytiga
, and researchers tracked the tumors by monitoring a protein called PSA in their blood, as unusually high levels of the protein are linked to prostate cancer.
