Small update on my Jeff
Once he resumes the medication however, his oncologist authorized taking the
Zytiga
at night and the Prednisone in the morning. We originally believed that the
Zytiga
caused him to be so profoundly tired on Friday.

Problems with Zytiga?
I’m on Lupron/
Zytiga
/prednisone for a little over two months. I started
Zytiga
at 1000mg but after less than a month had to drop down to 500mg because of liver problems. Prednisone has been at 5mg.

No More Balloons For Me
I Was doing well with taking
Zytiga
and the ADT path. Had a first scan done in May and my cancer tumor shrunk by 80%. Three weeks later, in the hospital. Half way thru the Radiation, things started to get better. I was able to stand up without pain, and was able to stand up and piss.

DC’s bone scan results are in!
The Dr said they will go away with the medication he is taking (
Zytiga
+Prednisone+Lupron 3 mo). Dr. rejected the estradiol patch but I’ll find a way to get some. His PSA is 24.5 from 243 & 66. Dr added Potassium & Chloride as his levels are slightly under normal.

Recurrent? Wait and get another PSA test to confirm situation
Well I met with my MO today at Stanford who shared the disappointment on signs of recurrent PSA (0.15) suggesting the EBRT and ADT +
Zytiga
have not provided a cure or longer break. Today’s conclusion is to retest in a few weeks for doubling time and confirms.

Peripheral neuropathy and Zytiga
After ten months
Zytiga
has failed me and my PSA doubling time is about two months. I am switching to Xtandi. For At least four months I have had paraesthesias on the balls of my feet. The paraesthesias are most notable when I get out of bed and touch the tile floor at night.

Profound fatigue from Zytiga
My Jeff just started taking
Zytiga
/Prednisone. We knew to expect fatigue, but he is profoundly fatigued and is struggling to stay awake. I’ve read that exercise can help with the exhaustion, however Jeff is compromised with severe leg weakness and mobility is a huge issue.

Spiraling Advice
I have failed most all Standards Of Care including
Zytiga
+ pred, a rechallenge of
zytiga
with Dex, LU-177, xtandi, Docetaxel (Taxotere), Cabazitaxel, and Taxal. It seems now I have liver metastasis which were noted on a CT Scan and reflected in my blood work. So no more Taxotere.

Brain metastasis update
Zytiga
should also help combat the cancer in his brain. RO said when doctors try to put a number on life expectancy they are usually wrong. He said the most he tries to do is narrow it down to weeks, months, or years.

Feeling Conflicted
For reference, my dad is on
Zytiga
(since 2019) with dexamethasone (he switched from prednisone to dexamethasone halfway through 2020). Any insight is appreciated, thank you.

Three and a half years
I am thankful for Lupron and
Zytiga
my SOC . When I was diagnosed Dec of 2017 and confirmed in Mar of 2018 that I was metastatic, stage four and Gleason nine, I was pretty sure I was not going to be around for another 3 plus years.

PSA after surgery, salvage radiation, and ADT?
This is about 15 months after coming off ADT and
Zytiga
. Of course we had been hoping that it would be undetectable for many years. Meeting with my doctor at Stanford next week so I’m sure I’ll get their opinion but wanted to see if anyone had similar experiences? Thanks all.

Muscle weakness on Lupron/Zytiga
Lately I’ve been having awful weakness in my legs…l’ll get down on my knees to do something and I can’t get up without grabbing onto something to pull myself up. Is this normal for one or both of those drugs? Kind of worries me that my mobility could be affected. Thanks!

Zytiga or Xtandi?
We are currently on commercial insurance, and
Zytiga
would have a copay of $50 a month and Xtandi would be free. After we go on Medicare next year, we would have a 20% copay for
Zytiga
, with an annual out of pocket cap of $3960. Xtandi would be free.

metastasized to brain
Please forgive my “family version” dialogue: After a painfully long and concerning wait dealing with insurance issues, Jeff finally received his cancer fighting drug,
Zytiga
. He started taking the
Zytiga
/Prednisone combo Friday, August 6th. The effects seemed immediate and severe.

My experience with Lu-177
Diagnosed in June 2020 following an iliac thrombosis, with a PSA of 30 and lymph node then bone metastases, I was treated with primary hormone therapy (Decapeptyl) then secondary (
Zytiga
) before becoming very quickly (less than a year) resistant to castration.

Worn Out Wings
With the Eligard/
Zytiga
regimen I'm on, the tears come easy reading of all the suffering, frustrations and the gauntlets we must run. It all comes down to asking yourself, What do I have to live for?

Am I ‘immunocompromised’ if on ADT?
I’m certain that chemotherapy would count but I’m wondering if hormone suppression drugs such as
Zytiga
, Lupron , etc would be considered the same. Thanks for any insight!
