Apixiban and joint pain, is there a link?
Does anyone else have worsening or new joint pain since being on apixiban? I started in January and so stopped anti inflammatory drugs but this is debilitating pain and in joints other than those I took painkillers for. I would welcome advice. Side effects speak of bleeding and rash, can’t find anything

Pain after surgery
Hello all, I’ve recently had my laparoscopy at the beginning of March 2022, I’ve been diagnosed with widespread endometriosis. I’ve been in agony again and went to A&E at the end of March, the pain I was experiencing was the usually pain felt before the surgery. The keyhole insertions healed completely

More on bone pain
I realize there was a discussion on bone pain a few days ago but can’t find it. My apologies. I have unrelenting, often intolerable bone pain that has ruined my life. I have been chalking it up to vitamin D deficiency. I am vitamin D resistant and treatment is not raising my D level. I do not tolerate

I posted a month ago about exercise, things have improved.
I'm pretty much at 6 months into my recovery now and most of the tiredness from pneumonia has lifted. I can over exert, but we are talking 60 minutes plus of exercise to make me feel it the following day. As I got back to full time work, I decided to slightly reduce the amount of walking distance I

Hello everyone, I have just been given a prescription for nerve pain by my GP to help with a painful hip caused by my lumbar vertebral fractures. I also currently have lower back pain, left rib and shoulder pain, most likely caused by overdoing the exercise. I haven't been taking the pills for long but

Painkillers
I have cirrhosis and my back has just given out on me (I have a dodgy disc) I know my pain relief options are limited but I need something as it is extrememly painful. What is the latest advice about what painkillers are best for the liver? Co-codamol is what I have here (and paracetamol) but I know

Total Thyroidectomy last week
Hi, I had a total thyroidectomy last week. I had multi-nodule goitre. Completely normal thyroid levels, although @radd had pointed out that some were low in the percentage scale. At one point one of my antibody panels was off but then completely normal on the next test. Two of my nodules were larger

Pain medications?
Is it difficult in the UK to obtain prescription pain medication? Here in the U.S. doctors send you to a Pain Management doctor upon which you are given a very minimal amount (if any). They first evaluate you and make their own conclusions as to whether THEY feel you need it. God forbid you are having

Alternative therapy, a follow-up
Years ago when I was early in my PMR journey I started going to a physiotherapist who offers low intensity light therapy. You can read a series of posts I made back then. I always felt it helped me during the early months and even years, and I continued going to see her for various other issues and

Another Laparoscopy? Help!
Hey so some of you may know me and my story. For those that don't here's a summary; I'm 37, I've been diagnosed with Endometriosis in 2017 through my diagnostic lap, the specialist performed an excision around my bladder and uterus (stage 4). In 2018 I had a planned further excision of endo from my bowel

Hib Vaccine query…..😊
Hi lovely lung people, quick question about Hib vaccines (for use in adults who have problems with Haemophilis Influenzae and Strep Pneumoniae.) I’m in my 40s but received the (child’s) Hib vaccine in 2018 (along with pneumonia vaccine) and would like to know what the protocol is regarding re vaccination

Now I'm worried
Morning I have been struggling since Nov 2021 with brain fog, fatigue, dreadful short term memory and awful bone/joint pain in shins/knees to the point I have to take pain killers which I hate. I had my bloods done on 24/2/22 at 9.30am, fasting and last dose 12 hours prior (it may have been a bit longer

Dilated Bile Duct
Does anyone or has anyone had any experience with post op (12 years) bile duct dilation and pain from it? I had my gall bladder removed 12 years ago, and about 1.25 years ago I began having a pain in my side…. Where my liver is. I have had every blood test and scan known except for the fibroscan because

Headache after coming off prednisolone
I’m new here, apart from browsing and learning a lot, thank you. I am female age 67, in UK. I am asking humbly for your thoughts, realising that I am much better off than so many on this site to whom I can only offer my sympathy. Can anyone help me judge whether my current frequent headache may be

Bad headaches / Migraines 5 weeks + 2 days
Hi everyone, just wanted to ask if anyone else experienced severe headaches in early pregnancy? I've done a covid test to rule that out and I am drinking alot of water. Just getting a little worried as they are so intense. No other real symptoms at the moment apart from that. It is likely from my hcg
