Losing hope now
The
xolair
appears to have no effect - for the last two weeks I have had a cough (not something I normally have) and a lot of wheezing.

Prednisone taper, Xolair, asthma-free vacation in France
Hi all -- If you have successfully tapered down, or got off, prednisone after getting on
Xolair
-- could you comment whether morning cortisol of 260 nM is acceptable, right before switching from 4 mg to 3 mg a day? I have been on 4 mg for 6 weeks, and I am now going down to 3 mg.

Are biologics (Xolair, Dupixent, Nucala or Fasenra) really worth the cost & side effects
I have asthma as well as elevated eosinophols (~850 mcL). The asthma is well controlled with an inhaler, but I have some concerns with long-term use of an inhaler so my interest is peaked by all of the advertisements about the various biologic treatments. For those who take one of these biologics

I am on my third differnt biologic -
xolair
. I have tried mepo and benra without success. My feno and eosiniphils remain high. Only courses of prednisilone ( 50 mg a day) offer any relief. I had complained earlier in the year of pins and needles on my feet but tests showed the nerves were ok.

Xolair! Excellent News!
So I am still on
Xolair
, which I was started on due to severe CSU because of my MCAS - started in late August 2021 (I think, lol). It has also massively helped my Asthma. I'm happy to say that my allergist (who manages my CSU and MCAS), is keeping me on
Xolair
for the forseeable!

Lung Pain
Hey guys, I have Severe Asthma which is extremely well controlled with
Xolair
and oral meds. I haven't had an attack in over 2 years since starting
Xolair
or any symptoms other than a couple of chest infections. I even caught COVID this year and got away without any impact on my breathing.

Changes in type of asthma
About 5 years l saw my respiratory consultant who put me on daily Predisolone to help with my asthma symptoms with view to putting me forward to have the
xolair
injection at this time my asthma was described as severe allergic asthma / brittle asthma, but at this time my markers didn't qualify me for

Predniso(lo)ne taper
While on
Xolair
, I went down from 20 to 5 mg in 4 months which was relatively easy; they checked cortisol after that, found it was normal, and gave me the go ahead to keep tapering.

Xolair
I had my first
xolair
today. Not impressed with the thought of three injections every two weeks. I wonder how long it will take to see any effect?

Getting worse
I started on
xolair
a couple of weeks ago. A week camping saw my asthma go worse - no doubt seasonal allergies making it worse. Another week of steroids. I was given a nuvo air spirometer to use at home - it is a great piece of kit but it simply shows how bad my lung function is. 50% FEV.

staying in a hotel with asthma: first intl trip in 2020
I've been on
Xolair
for the last 7 months, and gradually built the confidence to drive across the channel to attend a wedding. I had a FFP2 mask on while driving. Stayed in 2 different hotels, both with hardwood floors (easy to find in Belgium and Germany, unlike in the UK/USA).

DIY HEPA filtration system for travel
Some background: I've been on
Xolair
for 7 months now, and I am gradually gaining confidence to walk and drive 1-2 hrs from where I live, without checking the location of the nearest hospitals along the way. I still sleep in a HEPA/charcoal filtered air tent (DIY).

Xolair Success!
I had my first
Xolair
injections on Friday morning - and wow! My lungs feel amazing - so light and so airy. I barely notice I even have lungs unless I actively pay attention to them! Last night I even didn't get my normal night-time deterioration to the same extent.
