Radium 223 Xofigo Treatment
I have considerable pain in my hips and tale bone 3 days after first injection of
Xofigo
. The Radiologists mentioned I could get pain flare a few days after the injection. Is there anyone familiar with Radium 223 side effects.

8/4/23 Update questions for MO
Choose from and possibly combine: Taxotere, Xtandi,
Xofigo
, and Provenge. 4. Switch to xtandi or Casodex 5. Try docetaxel, which works by directly killing cancer cells, but can have substantial side effects, 6.

Almost scheduled for Lutium...
My husband Rudy had a consultation for
Xofigo
this past Wednesday at the VA San Diego but it was canceled and UCSD sceduled a consultation for Lutium. They said they would be sending us a schedule treatments soon with the first treatment of June. Feeling cautiously optimistic.. and grateful.

Pluvicto works but at what cost
Previously on Firmagon, Xtandi worked for awhile, nothing with
Xofigo
and a few rounds of Jevtana didn’t help and caused problems, also had localized XRT - but had to have chemo to qualify for Pluvicto which is a great advanced treatment for many of us After multiple delays getting Pluvicto with PSA

Post Xofigo, where do we go from here?
I've put off the decision for a month to see if things return to "normal" following the
Xofigo
. I understand his concerns but it seems like he is ignoring any positive action that the
Xofigo
has done. I don't want to give up on the Xtandi too soon. Any feedback is appreciated.

Chemo Update March 27, 2024
I have been CRPC since 2022 and have tried abiraterone and Radium 223 (
Xofigo
). I just completed 7 rounds of docetaxel again and PSA went from 105 to 3.1 after 4 rounds then started doubling. Now I will be switching to cabazitaxel for another 6 to 10 rounds. Has anyone switched and had any luck?

Need some advice on what tools are still in the toolbox
My MO was looking to start me on
Xofigo
, but it was denied by the insurance, so I’m wondering what tools might be left in the toolbox. I was also denied for Talzenna and Lynparza. I have an appt with on June 15th and I want to do my research and be prepared to discuss other possible options.

Where to go after Lutetium 177?
As we understand it, the following are possibilities:
Xofigo
(maybe) Provenge BAT Cabitaxol plus Carboplatin (which he will refuse -- the Docetaxol was SO awful, didn't work and he ended up almost in a wheelchair, so if that is the only choice, he will go for hospice.) 225 Actinium (clinical trial

Waiting time for Xofigo after failed Lu177 PNT2002 ?
The MO answering my question about
Xofigo
before Chemo, replied that I would need 6 months wait after the last shot of Lu177. So far all mets are at the bones. 6 months even after only 2 shots of Lu?

experience with pain from bone mets
He is now on Cabo,
Xofigo
(R223) and soon to get Keytruda. We are hoping this line of treatment can ease the pain from bone mets which make it hard to even walk. The pain meds can only go so far and have harsh side effects. Any relevant experience or encouraging stories?

Thoughts on vacation and PSA
Planning to ask both about the "vacation", what to do if/when PSA rises further, and what's new for consideration (BAT,
Xofigo
, etc) presuming the fight is still far from over. I know time and more tests will tell, but as always I welcome any input. Thanks all.

I'm pushing for preemptive
Xofigo
and getting some pushback from MO and RO. Should I keep on pushing to get ahead of the whack a mole external radiation?

Next treatment options available for advancing disease
Radium - 223,
Xofigo
. This is my preferred treatment option at the moment. The disease has only spread to my bones so far and this treatment works in damaging tumor cells in the bones. Also this treatment has the least side effects. I would like to continue working while having this treatment. 3.

Xofigo or Radium Lately?
Considering this after a successful six sessions of LU-177 (Pluvicto), but now PSA is rising quickly. Thanks.

Xofigo experience and thoughts requested
My husband, age 68, has been approved for
Xofigo
. He has 7 detectable bone metastasis, but had not experienced pain as yet. Gleason 9, PSA is 17 and trending upward, after 8 years on Lupron post PR and one year on Xtandi.
