Tough Questions
He has gone through docetaxal (almost killed him), Lupron, Xtandi, Abiraterone,
Xgeva
, immunotherapy, palliative radiation, and next was going to be cabazitaxal. His labs came back with his platelets at51, too low for treatment.

Has Anyone Tried Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) - for expedited healing from radiation induced bone fractures & unhealing wounds?
I understand that Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) helps tremendously with jaw bone death caused by
Xgeva
type drugs & radiation induced bone problems. It is FDA approved therapy for radiation induced injuries. There are no contraindications for people with active cancer.

Currently on Xtandi,
Xgeva
, Lupron/Eligard. I have the costs figured for my current meds but tough to know cost for the future meds once the current stop working, which is a virtual certainty the way it is explained to me.

Question about bicalutamide
Almost four years later, still on Lupron only (except for starting
Xgeva
in Jan 2020). My PSA is 0.66 now. The low was 0.5, and most readings (six (weeks and quarterly) have been 0.6 the last 18 months. My MO has been reluctant to add more treatment because of my four year stability.

WHY IS XGEVA SO EXPENSIVE?
I have been on
Xgeva
for 3 months & my insurance is being charged $10,635 per month, of which they are paying $10,200. It is a monthly injection. I talked to a Walgreens Pharmacy employee and he said the cash value of
Xgeva
is $3,200. Seems like a heck of a markup. Any ideas?

Need sleep aid
My husband is on Eligard once every 3m months,
Xgeva
monthly, Erleada nightly and Megace x 2 a day. One of his side effects is frequent urination during the night. He is up at least five times per night and neither of us is getting any sleep. What's a safe option? Thank you!

Anti-PCa effects of statins, prednisone, aspirin and denosumab (Xgeva)
A while ago I posted about the high importance of getting a bone density scan. People here spend a lot of time worrying about deleterious potential side effects, even from commonly prescribed statins and prednisone. But as far as I can tell also have anti-PCa effects. When my recent bone density scan

Does Prostate Cancer-produced Testosterone (T) Show Up In Normal T, Test?
I have been on Lupron, Erleada &
Xgeva
for 3 months. T has dropped from 331 to 42, 43 & 39, respectively. First 3 taken @ 2pm & last @ 8am, in the day. PSA has continued to drop from 7.3, 0.7, 0.3 & now 0.2, respectively. It seems that the T should be dropping more?

Osteonecrosis and Xgeva
I have been on the
Xgeva
3 month shot since June 2019. Just been diagnosed with TMJ and my last shot was Mar 2022. How long will it take for
Xgeva
to leave the system since TMJ still feels like it is progressing?

Xgeva with Pluvicto?
My husband finally got his first Pluvicto last week and I put his
Xgeva
on hold just in case. I will ask in Thursday upcoming telehealth visit but would appreciate info from the smart people here. Thoughts? Thanks.

Too Much Sleep
Afternoon Ladies, I'm on Afinitor, Letrozole &
Xgeva
. I'm doing really well on this combo, as far as getting rid of the cancer, but quality of life...none. I literally sleep about 20-22 hours a day. I get up, I'm up about an hour and then all I want is to go back to sleep.

Xgeva or Zometa, which is better?
I have been on
Xgeva
for over two years because I have metastasis on my bones. My MO suggests that I could stop the
Xgeva
. Please, I have some questions, and I need help. If I stop the
Xgeva
can I start Zometa? Is there any difference between
Xgeva
and Zometa?

Xgeva and dental implants
Hey Ladies, are any of you on
Xgeva
who also have dental implants? I have had a few dental implants over the years and have read they may be risk factors for ONJ (osteonecrosis of the jaw) while taking
Xgeva

Dry Mouth & the Advanced PC Patient (for those on Pluvicto or meds or ICI, where a side effect is dry mouth) - A Guide
Drugs such as zoledronic acid (Zometa), denosumab (Prolia or
Xgeva
) and IV bisphosphonates can be effective, but come with an increased risk for osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ). ONJ occurs when cells in the jaw bone die and the body tries to rid itself of the dead bone.
