Husband Just Diagnosed
He is receiving firmagon,
xgeva
and has finished his 2nd round of docetaxal and neulasta one day after chemo. Chemo is giving him joint pains, tired and feeling of being unwell. He's still working and doing things around the house and yard work.

"OLD" DRUG WORKS PRETTY GOOD
At the time I was on Firmagon,
Xgeva
, Zytiga and Olaparib simultaneously. Unfortunately, the main side effect for me was severe fatigue and I found myself taking longer and longer mid-day naps. I concluded that the way things were going I'd be gone by Christmas. So what to do?

Keeping Bones Strong
Xgeva
, calcium supplements and weight lifting help to keep bones strong. Milk, yogurt and other dairy products can help bone strength too but I have read that dairy is an accelerator for advanced prostate cancer so we should steer clear of it. Have you folks heard the same?

Labs 5/22
So, the comprehensive said I was good to take my
xgeva
. But, of course I needed the status of WBC and neutrophils. One nurse said “you can use the 4/24 numbers”. I said “I don’t think so. They need to monitor my response to Ibrance”. She paged dr and sure enough, someone forgot to order.

Tip for Zytiga and Prednisone Side Effects
I have not had much of a problem with the side effects from Lupron and
Xgeva
but the Zytiga+Prednisone treatment has been making me very tired and also making it very difficult to concentrate.

Next phase of QOL
Next step start back on Letrozole, holding up on Ibrance and Lupron /
Xgeva
injections. Appointment Tuesday to discuss removing my Ovaries (the sooner the better). That will take care of the Lupron. From here it will be add back one at a time to see what is making me so ill.

Anyone familiar with Xgeva injection?
My oncologist wants to start me on an
Xgeva
injection every 4 weeks. Was wondering if anyone has had it and any side effects. I am a bit hesitant after reading the side effects. Would appreciate any info. Pat D

Metastatic Prostate cancer to bone - next step chemo
Still on lupron, xtandi,
xgeva
. Have done zytega/prednisone, Provenge, xofigo, SRS on 3 lumbar bone Mets last month. Psa 1.3 before radiation. Really worried about doing taxotere. Is it really hard? Sick, hair loss, more fatigue?

Introduction-new here
Just added
Xgeva
in March. Expecting to take Ibrance and letrozole starting next week. Just recently started w muscle and bone tightness. I wouldn’t call it pain. Just feels like I overworked at gym. Walking or stretching do help it. I think the
xgeva
is making me itch.

My medication is Zytiga w/ Prednisone,ELIGARD injections every six months and
Xgeva
injections monthly to strengthen my bones. While I know it's not for everyone it seems to be working for me.

Coffee
Does anyone have any suggestions for maintaining your energy level while on Lupron and
Xgeva
? Coffee was doing the trick but appears to be causing too many other problems. Thanks!

Seeking a new MO
Currently on Eligard and
XGeva
with decent results for about one year (PSA < 1.0, three bone mets decreased in size since starting treatment, and no new mets). Have not had any operations, radiation, or chemo yet.

New to this Site
He was put on Lupron and
Xgeva
injections and then had 6 IV chemo treatments of Taxotere. He finished that in December 2016. PSA was 0.1 and pain was gone. He has gone through the usual side effects of Lupron that takes your muscle strength and feeling like a man.
