Zometa - Issues mouth & jaw
I am new here but have a question I had one
Xgeva
injection then had mouth issues and ended up losing a tooth, then they held off for 2 months and gave a Zometa infusion. First one (12/18)I had sore muscles, mouth pain and jaw pain for a week after, better with 800mg motrin every 4 hrs.

Spring 2018. Things have been stable since the change on drugs until 3 months ago when PSA rose by.1 each of the last 3 months so it is now .4 and alk phos up from 150 to 180. MO says these changes aren’t significant.

Looks great, but think Xtandi is coming to an end.
Currently (aside from pain meds) he’s on Lupron,
xgeva
, Xtandi. Has done docetaxel, casodex, degarelix. Can’t do surgery. Can do radiation for urinary symptoms. He was supposed to start this week but we’re putting off bc we got into a dr at UTSW on Wednesday. Don’t even really know what I’m asking.

Stage IV Side effects catching up with me
Anyway, I'm still doing herceptin and projeta every three weeks, lupron and
Xgeva
along with Ethamestine (triple +) .. i have so many side effects i don't even bother reporting anymore becuse they seem so minor and i'm told "Well it's possible it's from one of them." So frustrating.

Osteonecrosis of the jaw treatment?
Stopped taking
Xgeva
and the ONJ seemed to be healing but recently flared up again. Question for the group.... does ONJ go away in time and/or is there any treatment for it?

Xgeva / calcium & vitamin D.
But some here are against supplementation with vitamin D, so the following is a heads-up for those who might be on

down the road.

New to the group... need ideas
Began Lupron/
Xgeva
treatment. After a year, Mets undetectable and PSA ~2. Added Casodex and PSA quickly dropped to .05. At 2 years PSA started doubling every 3 months. Also developed ONJ due to prolonged
Xgeva
use. Root canal gave some pain relief, but chewing impossible.

.5, .8, 1.0, 1.3 - Stay the Course?
I'm taking Lupron and
Xgeva
quarterly. Zytiga and Prednisone daily. Already did Chemo and Provenge. Original four bone mets when first diagnosed 2.5 years ago are not growing and have diminished with treatment. No pain.

Currently Xtandi Monotherapy, have had only Taxotere, no other therapy of any type. G9 2005. PSA rising now. Considering ADT 1/2 dose.
ADT concerns me greatly for many reasons, not the least of which is diagnosed osteoporosis,,,,I am of course on monthly
Xgeva
. Also have a question. Xtandi has raised my testosterone from 350 to 600 to 900 depending upon which month. Lupron’s mission is to lower it.

Good News, Pain Question, and a Dumb Forum Question
Now the good news, I just had my second infusion of docetaxel yesterday which came with a shot of
Xgeva
on the side. It went very smoothly, unlike the first infusion. Of course, before the infusion they drew blood and my PSA is already down to 0.19 from 216 at diagnosis in October.

Feeling sad and discouraged
He is currently on Lupron,
Xgeva
, Metformin and Taxotere and nothing is working! We have met with a Dr in Nebraska and are trying to get into the LU-177 trial. I am extremely concerned due to his Gleason 10, extensive mets, and resistance to everything we have thrown at it.

Question for men on Denosumab (Xgeva)
Has anyone here on denosumab experienced the rare side effect of atypical femoral fracture? I’ve had mets at the top of my right femur for some time, and there’s rarely been pain. This week’s bone scan shows the mets creeping downward about to the center of the femur. For the last 24 hours, I’ve had

Recovering from robotic prostatectomy; pathology results
Continuing on ADT ( Zytiga, Prednisone, Eligard,
Xgeva
) post surgery. Catheter removed on Nov 21, one day before Thanksgiving. Getting used to dealing with incontinence. Not too bad. Getting better every day, slowly but surely.

I guess
xgeva
is helping it. I’ve got new spots on liver and the 10+ from last time grew a little. There was a onco filling in for mine since it’s Hanukkah. His opinion: don’t get a liver biopsy yet. Try faslodex. Although he didn’t indicate what else would go with faslodex.

why only Lupron (every 3months) alone?
MO changed his monthly Firmagon to Lupron every 3 months and
Xgeva
every 3 months ( had one
Xgeva
shot October 23rd and one yesterday) From what I have read, shouldn't he be on another drug to prevent the initial testerone flare from Lupron.
