Secondary pneumonia- post covid/ventilator
Hi everyone, My dad is off the vent and off sedation. He is breathing on his own but still in the hospital. However, today they said his breathing was a bit laboured. They also said his white blood count was low. They are suspecting secondary bacterial pneumonia. They have already started treating it

Excess Mucous
My husband has excess mucous which causes him to cough all the time and he can’t ever really clear his throat which causes him to talk with a gurgle most times. The Neurologist has given him Atropine drops which helped initially but their affect has now worn off. The Neuro has now suggested Botox injections

Happy New Year
To everyone and good health and early, early letter inviting us for a vaccine appointment. For me, I pushed my ET diaognosis to the back of my mind and just could not face it. This year Covid made me face up to it and start to look after myself better. And then I found you all and you got me throught

Round ligament pain?
I am 3weeks and 3days and have noticed at around two weeks that every time I sneezed or coughed especially when I was lying down I am getting a sharp pulling and cramping sensation, when doing some research it all points to something called 'round ligament pain' which seems to make sense, when reading

This is sort of embarrassing to write but I feel I can post it in here and preserve my dignity. Over the past few years I have suffered from frequent bouts of stomach upsets which has resulted in me having to rush for the nearest bathroom without warning and, on some occasions, I have not made it in

Worry & Exercise
Do any of you worry because you can't exercise as you wish? I have polyarthritis and, because of the very damp, cold weather I just can't get outside (I haven't been out of the house for five days). I do walk around the flat, stretch, bend when I can - but 'walk'?? Do you "push" yourselves or just

Peak flow meter measurement
Hello all, I have recently buyed peak flow meter and I started to measure my peak flow in the morning, afternoon and evening before taking my therapy. I found it strange that even when I feel symptoms (chest tightness) according to my peek flow meter I am in green zone( which should be from 517-600

Red vomit - Esophageal Varices?
I'm gonna keep this as brief as possible. So, at the moment I have a lot of concerns about liver disease/cirrhosis due to alcohol abuse. I haven't drunk anything in 10 days, but decided to have a couple of light beers last night. It made me feel really bloated and gassy, so I made myself sick. The

Epidural in lower back
I had an epidural in lower back on the 15th December to treat pain due to bulging disc sitting near the nerve. It’s yet to kick in or it hasn’t worked, how long does it normally take to feel better?

the rise before the fall
An unintentional PB for 5k was swiftly followed by an unmitigated disaster. It was lashing with rain last night and as I was determined to get my three runs in for this week I reluctantly stepped into the treadmill instead. I like the opportunity the treadmill gives me to push myself only a little bit
