DEXA and Leaky Bowels
Two questions for my knowledgeable chums. I was diagnosed in November 2023 and after a battle with my GP managed to get a DEXA scan in early April. Results are that this 75 year old has the typical bone density profile of a 30 year old. Yay! Is it reasonable to push for another scan after 6 months

Update to "Graves/hyperthyroid - not severe but wish me luck!"
Firstly not quite sure how threads work in this forum, seems that adding a reply to a thread doesn't bump it, so have started new thread, apologies if this is not the way to do it. I just wanted to respond to previous comments. Several members cautioned me that since my hormone levels were not very

Got 1st blood results since starting Ndt, my T4 is down and T3 up, should I increase NDT or try LDN?
Hi, I've been on NDT 2 grains for almost 3 months now. After 3 weeks on it, I started to feel worse & so I started taking full dose first thing and chew tablets now. I've started to feel a bit better in the past 2 weeks and have had a few days where I don't feel like falling asleep and can do a 10 min

Hello, 4 years ago I had a sechat scan and the results 2.7% which indicates severe bile acid malabsorption. The problem is my main symptom isn't diarrhoea i do go to the toilet urgently with diarrhoea but normally only once a day. I have severe tummy pain and bloating. I have tried colesevelam but

low in iron and B12
found out I’m low in iron and I’ve got pernicious anemia. From my understanding having regular B12 injections has lowered my iron and ferritin. Should I put B12 on hold and increase my iron and ferritin? But when I don’t have regular B12 I feel the side effects. I’m taking heme iron once a day.

High-Dose Vitamin D Linked to Lower Disease Activity in CIS
High-dose oral cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) supplementation significantly reduces evidence of disease activity in patients with clinically isolated syndrome (CIS), results of a randomized, controlled trial suggest. In addition, cholecalciferol had a favorable safety profile and was well tolerated.

B1/thiamine mechanism of action for Parkinson's Disease?
I understand that many of us PD sufferers benefit from vitamin B1 therapy as outlined in Dr. Constantini's publications, current Facebook group , and per many posts herein . I know it doesn't help everyone, but I was curious if there are any theories on its mechanism of action? The reason I ask is I

Apologies for yet another post.. but I truly feel like I'm being battered with one thing after another. I am trying to piece together what is B12 and what is something else. I've had tinnitus for months now, started after I began injecting. However, over the past few weeks this has changed to be pulsatile

Hi I’ve just had my thyroid results .. I’m not feeling too good have neuropathy flare 😞 I work NHS and I’ve asked about my results and they seem to think maybe my T3 is a little high for me as this neuropathy started soon after my increase ? I have also got a high ferritin which the GP thinks I shouldn

Hyperthyroid To Hypothyroid??
To give a bit of back story, I first saw my GP for suspected thyroid issue in Jan 2021 at that time I was told my blood results were normal but I was Vit D deficient which was the explanation for my symptoms. Even though I felt fobbed off I took the findings for what they were as the GP is the expert

Help what happened?
My ferritin saturation has dropped since b12 injections! What do I do? I feel so ill! We now think the only reason I was low in b12 was a very very stressful year!

methotrexate confusion/Neuro symptoms
Hi, I wrote previously about family member’s confusion/dementia symptoms on low dose methotrexate. Scans showed no signs of age related degenerative dx. So did my research & found multiple cases of debilitating cognitive decline even on low dose methotrexate, despite doctors not listening, at first.

T4 conversion and B12 complex
Hello, hope you are all well. I am currently taking Levothyroxine 50mg daily and have been since May, feeling slightly better in some ways so some positives. I have been reading about the thyroid only supporting 20% of T4 to T3 and the complex B12 can support this in addition. Does anyone have any experience

Hypertension and B12
Just wondering if others have had issues with B12-raised hypertension? I've suffered with hypertension for a while (>5 years) and it has gone through periods of being controlled by medication, only to see the blood pressure start to climb again after a year or two, necessitating a change in medication

High MCV & MCH update
Good morning all I just wanted to update you on my previous post. All blood tests came back normal apart from very high B12 and Folate and a note under differential white blood count saying "RBC show mildly macrocytic picture" MCV & MCH were still abnormal but lower than a couple of weeks previously

Please help - private blood test (1 + 2)
I’ve been and am quite unwell and thought it was T3 but recent private blood tests show something else? (Tested 24 hours between Levothyroxine). * TPO 933?? I’m not sure how to proceed to get back to functioning and feeling normal. Been taken all recommended supplements, but perhaps I’m not absorbing
