Radium 223
Hi there Just wondering does radium 223 act the same as chemo when it comes to xtandi versus abiterone? My hubby has done 6 months of radium 223 while on xtandi and will now have scans in feb. Will he be able to try abiterone now or will he be faced with chemo? I know it might not work for long anyhow

Barium Swallow Experience ?
Hello, I am due to have a barium swallow next week and getting a bit anxious about it. I have had endoscopies in the past, due to Celiac disease and Gastritis, but the last one made me feel really unwell, which is why my Doctor has recommended the Barium swallow. I have read up on some peoples experiences

The French Paradox - Why the French Have the Lowest Incidence of Heart Disease in the Developed World

Had my third kidney transplant
Hello everyone:) Happy Holidays! 2 weeks ago I received the phone call that they had a kidney for me ..this was very unexpected because I had been told throughout the whole pre transplant process that I would have a living donor through the paired exchange program. My husband would donate to someone

Primary Hyperparathyroidism
I was diagnosed with osteoporosis whilst being investigated for hypercalcemia. Turns out I had a tumour on my parathyroid gland - primary hyperparathyroidism. I was told this caused my osteoporosis because the parathyroid glands control the calcium in our bodies. Mine was out of control and leaking calcium

Vitamins
Can someone please list all the vitamins (including calcium, because I am a woman) that are helpful to take daily for RLS including the amount to take daily, strengths, and times of day to take them? I'm confused because I know you have to be careful not to take magnesium with other things, iron, vitamin

Afib once and done?
During a check-up back in October of 2020, I was found to be in afib. I was immediately put on Eliquis. Since October of 2020, I have never experienced another afib event. I was non-symptomatic when it was discovered and continue to be nonsymptomatic. I bought a Kardia device and check for afib 3x a

Does anyone take Vitamin K2?
MK-7, (Menaquinone-7 is touted as the most bio-available form of Vitamin K2). I started taking due to concern that all those years of taking Calcium supplements may have contributed to my developing PD. New to this group and looking to learn
I was diagnosed with osteoporosis this summer (-2.5), and I was disappointed to see that number. It was my third DEXA scan over the last 10 years following removal of my thyroid for thyroid cancer and subsequent thyroid replacement therapy, and I've watched a continuing decrease in bone density in spite

Calcium and vitamin d intake to avoid osteoporosis while on pred?
I am curious to know how much calcium and vitamin d people are taking in order to stave off possible osteoporosis while taking prednisone. Currently, I'm taking about 1,000 mg per day of calcium, total, from food and supplement, and about 1400 IU (35 mcg) of vitamin d, mainly from supplements. Just curious

Is my panic negating the anesthetics?
Knowing this my primary care provider advised me to take a larger dose of
Valium
an hour before the appointment and when the appointment started. We also tried Xanax. Not even nitrous gas could knock me down. I don't mean out but down.

Advised to take vitamin D but also on Warfarin
I have a history of going very low on vitamin D so was advised to take supplements. Problem is that I'm reading that those taking vitamin D should also take Vitamin K2 to ensure calcium deposits into the bones and not the arteries. For those of us on Warfarin what are we advised to do? Are we predisposing

K2 and suspected blood clot
Hello I have been taking k2mk7 in conjunction with calcium magnesium citrate and D3. I started getting a dull nagging pain in my calf and had blood test showing elevated d dimer indicative of blood clot. I have a scan tomorrow. I see that K2 can bee used to promote blood clotting and worry that perhaps

New Medicines Atorvastatin and Propranaolol Bone Worries
I have had a barrage of blood tests done recently due to Osteoporosis, no blood test was left out, except for Magnesium that I am being tested for in the next lot of blood tests in January. My blood tests show high cholesterol so the doctor prescribed Atorvastatin 20mg. He also prescribed Propranaolol
