Having Rotator cuff repair tomorrow, and Moh's surgery next week.
Hi, Well, I made through the past week without aspirin and my anti-inflammatories, which I sorely missed, so that tomorrow they can fix my rotator cuff. Then next week, while I'm already out on leave, the basal cell cancer on my nose gets its turn. Hopefully, things go well, so please wish me luck

Having being diagnosed with ET last August, I have been on aspirin only until my haematologist said that with platelets rising to 540 I should start hydroxycarbamide 500mg daily. I was also prescribed Allopurinol, 300mg daily. Has anyone else been prescribed Allopurinol? In the last few days I have

For the FET, taking Aspirin, when did you stop taking it (which weeks of pregnancy)?
Hi everyone, I have some questions related to Aspirin. I had a miscarriage two years ago (it was a natural pregnancy), the cause of it possibly due to chromosomes abnormal. Just in case, I took Aspirin for my first FET to make sure no blood was blocked, and my fertility clinic agreed to it. I have

Upped my prednisone for knee inflammation and now I'm not sure how to reduce back to 1.5 mg.
You all have so much good advice on reducing prednisone which helped be to successfully reduce my dose to 1.5 mg, which I have been on for quite some time. (Many months, but reluctant to keep going as I was having other issues and didn't want to rock the boat further.). Recently my knee became swollen

ET and periods/menstruation
Hi - this is a question for those of you who have monthly periods, (or were still menstruating when you were diagnosed). I was diagnosed several months after going to see a doctor about spotting/dark clots up to a week before my regular period (in my late 30s)- I asked to be screened for cancer and

Is Aspirin needed for Et
I’ve just listened to the vlogcast with Alicia O’Sullivan and heard her say that aspirin is not required for ET just for PV. I was told that it was needed for ET to stop the platelets sticking together. Any thoughts please. Thanks Irene

After a small HA six years or so ago, I take aspirin, amplodipine, ramipril and atorvastatin. I've strained a tendon in my upper arm which has seriously impacted the mobility of my dominant arm. To cut a long story short, my GP has diagnosed tendonopathy and while I wait to see a physiotherapist for

coronary artery spasm
Hi. I have been told that I most probably have coronary artery spasm as get chest pain if I rush especially if it’s cold and I’ve just eaten or had a drink of something. It started in 2021 and I had loads of tests and they said my arteries were clear. They put me on Atorvastatin and low dose aspirin.

Eye haemorrage
I am on hydroxy 500mg daily and 75mg asprin. My left eye has become bloodshot again. On the previous occasion, some 5 weeks ago, my left eye had a serious bleed, which took weeks to clear. I think I will stop asprin forwith. I attempted to contact my haematology nurse, left a message and no call back

ET and treatment choices
I was diagnosed with ET in 2004. I am on Aspirin. I recently turned 60. My platelets are 530. My consultant has recommended that I start low dose Hydroxycarbamide 3 days per week. I am so confused and don’t know what to do.

Aspirin. Two questions....
Hi all, l hope everyone is well. OK first can anyone confirm that it is right to give an aspirin of 300 to 320mg to a person who is, or possibly is, having a heart attack if that person is already taking100mg daily aspirin. I can only find one article that says yes to this. Also, how long after starting
