How to ask the GP for a referral letter
Any advice on how to ask my NHS GP for this as I've never had an NHS acknowledgement of my Hashi's (my
TSH
has never been anywhere near "high enough" so I had to go to a private GP for initial diagnosis and am now effectively self-treating via a pharmacy; my symptoms are way better on Thyroid treatment

My
TSH
is very low but I am on a combination of T4/T3 but my levels of T4 and T3 are well within range. In Dec T4 was 10% through the range and T3 48% following the usual testing suggested.

Advice needed on thyroxine management
I retested my thyroid hormones in November 2023, the results of which were as follows: T4 - 20.5 pmol/L (9.5-22.7)
TSH
- 2.10 mu/L (0.55-4.78) T3 - 4.1pmol/L (3.5-6.5) In January 2024 I began feeling wired again and the anxiety has increased and I am finding it hard to sleep.

Blood tests, T3 and talking to GP
I’m assuming my
TSH
will be very low. Additionally I’ve just tested positive for Covid so imagine this may impact any tests next week. Thanks for any replies!

Thyroxine dose
But my recent blood result show T4 is 15.3 pmol/L and
TSH
LEVEL IS 0.22 mu/L. My GP said the level are high and should reduce the dose to 75mcg of thyroxine. I am not sure. Appreciate any suggestions,

Thyroxine drop
My
TSH
is way below where it should be and my Thyroid level is still at the top of the normal range. I have no energy, I'm feeling cold and alos feeling a bit down...very unlike me because I'm a positive person normally. I know that mine is autoimmune, coupled with RA, Chron's and Alopeica.

Hyperthyroidism symptoms
Gp did blood test for
TSH
level but came back normal (1.22). Have lost weight and wakes me at night too. What other tests could I ask for which may indicate thyroid. I also have ulcerative colitis and heart disease and fibromyalgia but this sensation is really debilitating.

Effects of Levothyroxine
hi everyone, Thanks to some wonderful advice here I have navigated various GPs who initially suggested my symptoms could all be “psychological” The last GP I spoke to looked back at my
TSH
from my last pregnancy and found it had been elevated, and had continued to climb over last 4 years.

I finally got my dr to do a free T3 test. what do these results mean
Free T4 17.8 normal range 11.9 - 21,6 Free T3 3.5 normal range 3.1 - 6.8
TSH
. 0.92. Normal range 0.27 - 4.2 I feel like I’m not converting thyroxine but is this what the results are saying?

TSH &T4 levels after total thyroidectomy
TSH
has reduced below normal levels and T4 are normal but my symptoms are as if
TSH
is too high. I’m expecting a reduction in thyroxine prescription but worried symptoms will worsen. I’d prefer a small increase but that is likely to worsen

NHS Endo blood request form whilst on T3 & 4
Just received my latest bloods form which only requests
TSH
and fT4... since starting T3 a year ago they have never requested a fT3 result ( I've added them to the form for my own benefit) Is this the norm? Just curious It's almost as if I'm prescribed T3 but they don't acknowledge it 🤷♀️

TSH

CFS clinic
I'm not yet out of range
TSH
wise. I haven't tested privately recently as I've just increased all recommended vitamins so will give those chance to work before a new test. Just wondering if they consider thyroid at CFS clinics? Anyone else found help this way?
