Lupron vs Trelstar
My first injection 3+ months ago was with Lupron. When I got my second injection last week I was given Trestar. The PA said it was a common thing to interchange the two due to costs of the drug or availability at the time. Is it indeed a common practice and are there any cons with this practice?

Trelstar
Why is
Trelstar
(triptorelin) so rarely prescribed in the US? It appears to be the first choice agonist in the UK.

Xgeva to Zometa
Just some info......Elgie had his
Trelstar
and Xgeva appointment yesterday. Out of the blue they switched him from Xgeva to Zometa due to.... they don't carry Xgeva any longer because it cost too much. By nighttime his bones hurt so bad that he couldn't even walk.

Casodex and headaches
Been on casodex for two months and just added
trelstar
about a month ago. Starting to feel breast pain and getting hot flashes so I’m used to that from prior time. What I don’t remember is if I had these intermittent headaches that move around my head. Anyone have that as an issue? Thanks. Mike

Hip pain and just started back on casodex and trelstar
I just came off vacation from adt so I just started casodex and then recently added
trelstar
again. I noticed I have right hip pain, slight headache and sour stomach. Anyone experience this starting back up? The sour stomach may be from spinach salads.

Rising psa and a moderate colon cancer polyp
I am now back on Casodex and
trelstar
. Anyway I get a colonoscopy yearly as I have lynch syndrome and two weeks ago they found a moderate malignant polyp that was small in my colon so the gastro scooped it out and thinks he got it all and we will recheck it in 6 weeks to see that he got it all.

Starting Adt
My husband is now starting
Trelstar
, every 6 month. He has already started Casodex 50 mg. He has got cardiac problems, stents. Currently he is taking Broccomax, but also baby Aspirin and a statin. Is it advisable for him to add Natto now? What about K2D3?

follow up on ADT Formula
I was on Lupron, and then we tried
Trelstar
and I found the side effects - especially hot flashes - markedly increased. SO I asked to switched back to Lupron. There is a shortage of Lupron ? Really - does anyone know about that ? So we went with Eligard for this round.

Lupron vs Trelstar
Switched Docs, he switched me to
Trelstar
. And comments on which is better? Any complications from switching? My PSA has been undetectable for a year.

Just diagnosed with Advanced Prostate Caner
Doctor started me on
Trelstar
and Bicalutamide. He also prescribed Venlafaxine to help with the hot flashes. (This step happened last week) My next appointment is in September to see if the PSA numbers have dropped at all.

MONOTHERAPY FOR NEWLY DIAGNOSED PROSTATE CANCER
As of Dec 18, 2019, LHRH agonists available in the US include: Leuprolide (Lupron, Eligard), Goserelin (Zoladex), Histrelin (Vantas) and Triptorelin (
Trelstar
). An LHRH agonist keeps testicles from making T by blocking other hormones needed to make it.

Russian Roulette
The doctor wanted me to get a three month shot of
Trelstar
and I refused based on the fact that I was doing fine on Firmagon. The doctor’s explanation was you could only be on Firmagon for three months which I knew was incorrect.

Using Trelstar alone after using zytiga
Our MO has indicated that PSA of 1 is when he would like my husband to start on ADT again, but this time he will only give
trelstar
because he states my husband is no longer considered metastatic......

Discouraged
Been taking zytiga with
trelstar
a year now since diagnosis. Initially psa fell quickly from 352 to undetectable, but since May has been doubling monthly. Today it is 0.97. 😔 I sure was hoping to be on this regimen longer. I go back to dr next Thursday.
