Post cataract surgery
Hi folk I’m home from cataract surgery yesterday and just started on the mega routine of drops, so 13 per day in left eye not including the dry eye drops! It was very painful yesterday and now I would say it’s sore. I’m sitting in a shady part of my lounge as everything seems really intense with my left

Drug for glaucoma prevention, refill problems
I’m in the US. I’ve been on Zioptan eye drops because of being at risk of glaucoma from GCA and extreme nearsightedness to keep pressure down and prevent glaucoma. I was recently denied this drug by my insurance company and switched to the generic which caused me problems initially.

Update on my post: Hashimoto's in range, switch to Armour
Hi...I'm on NDT now. 9 days. I had to switch to an old Armour script I tried 16 mo ago. The Levoxyl T4 I took, 16 days. (did wait until I couldn't stand reactions anymore, could not function at all last few days) Felt better on this second try of Armour. I got a newer prescription, the 5th day. I have

A tiny cyst-like lump near tear duct by birth
My 6 years old has a small cyst-like bump in his left eye’s tear duct by birth. It seems it’s right on the upper lacrimal point or tear duct. Although he never complains about vision impairment, itching, or pain, neither water dripping from the eye nor his tear gets blocked when he cries, his eye is

Query
Hello, I just wondered if anyone has experienced problems with nasal dryness? I was diagnosed with Lupus in 2009. This diagnosis was queried in 2011 and Bechets a real possibility. I do not have all the characteristics but I do have mouth and genital ulceration, joint swelling and fatigue. Last month

DOES CSR ALWAYS LEAD TO WMD?
Briefly, started with CSR in left eye around 2004. Thought initial episode a one-off - it wasn't! Repeated attacks every other year roughly, up to around 2017/8, after that noted the circular dark shadow had remained in visual field, but only really affecting if I obscured good right eye. Otherwise could

Blurred vision and floaters
I have been reducing my steroids down by 1mg a month and am now at 13mg but in the last two weeks my eyes have got some blurred version and some floaters. Is this to be expected while reducing or is it something for concern. I had my eyes checked on Friday pasted and he said they were ok . I asked about

Could these be Pred symptoms?
I have read a few things which have all been really helpful and has made me wonder if some of the things I am experiencing are pred symptoms and others not. I am likely repeating what others have already asked, for which I apologise in advance. Some may already have been answered, in which case ignore

DHEA or Pregnenolone?
Hello, is anyone here using DHEA? I have low levels but I am in doubt whether to use DHEA directly or, as I read a few times, supplementing with Pregnenolone. I am also on HRT.

What is mucormycosis, the fungal infection affecting COVID patients in India?
This week we’ve seen reports of an infection called mucormycosis, often termed “black fungus”, in patients with COVID, or who are recovering from COVID, in India. Fungal infections can be devastating. And in this case mucormycosis is adding to the burden of suffering in a country already in a deep COVID

and it was going so well ... :-(
doing week5, enjoying it, new shoes working well, then 2 nights ago flashing lights and strong visual disturbance and it seems I have a Posterior vitreous detachment in left eye. Right eye happened a year ago without problems, but left eye not going well, detached retina looks like a possibility.

Baseline scan to check lining ...
This is my 3rd ivf cycle and today is the very first appointment ever that I haven’t had a problem or some kind of issue come up . My lining is actually thin enough and I start my stimming injections TODAY . Couldn’t believe it as I’m so used to always hearing something negative. I know its still a

Apixaban, bloodshot eyes and easily obtained bruised
My AF has been quiet for 5 years now apart from a couple of very short bursts. My consultant wants me to continue taking Apixaban, but I’m worrying about the bruising and bloodshot eyes that now seem to be occurring. Any views?? My doctor agrees that I should come off them now, I’m 68 now, healthy

Eye clinic -Uveitis
I had my appointment at Moorfields this morning. Full blown Uveitis with Cyst/ Macular Edema at the back of the eye. Luckily they decided no injection needed at this point - massive relief. Now on 3 types of eye drops to bring the inflammation down, and have to go back in 3 weeks. Thanks to everyone

Failing many meds over the years.
I have failed so many meds over the many years I’ve had RA. Very seldom for one to last even a year. So much so that my doctor is going back and we are trying some over again. Well today he said he was gonna put me on Kineret. It’s a once a day shot. He are you ok giving yourself an injection a day

Macular hole
Hi all. Although I have had a vitrectomy op 3 years ago I don't know much about my latest diagnosis. I knew everything was deteriorating again and emailed and rang over and over my main hospital who did the first op but they never responded. However I went to my local hospital for a routine checkup
