Bifocals glasses
Hallo everyone I have dry AMD in both eyes but worse in my Good, right eye which has PED (explained to me recently) . I am also a glaucoma suspect and on Monopost and Cosopt eye Drops. I attended the AMD clinic for the first time last week. I am petrified of losing my sight because of both conditions

Still they don't get it
Thiis review yet again commits the cardinal sin of lumping in together the majority who are indifferent to T4 only therapy, and those who benefit from combination. Another useless waste of paper with as usual, the allegation that T4 only and T4/T3 therapy are no different (though a minority preferred

Newly Diagnosed
Hi Everyone Was diagnosed with glaucoma and cataract in right eye at normal 2 year opticians visit and feel I have been thrust into a tumble drier. Don't fully undestand all the terminology but will do my best. I had no symptoms and a full field scan(?) pick up no sign of peripheral loss. Going back

Canaloplasty
It’s now a week since I had my right cataract removed and canaloplasty in that eye. So far so good! The vision in my right eye is now fantastic (because the cataract has been removed). It is a joy to see bright colours again and as I have worn glasses for short sight since I was 7 its amazing to be able

Thyroid eye disease
I need help! I have hyperactive thyroid, one of my eye started to swell and bulge out little bit. Now one of my eye is bigger than the other one. I completely lost self confidence. My gp said his going to refer me to a eye specialist but this takes 10 days for the referral to be sent. I am on Carbinazole

Trab went well
I just wanted to share that my trab on Tuesday went very well, despite my fears about having only a local anaesthetic. I got some great support from people on here back in the summer when I knew it was on the cards which was very helpful. I was made very comfortable and didn't feel a thing, not even

Interesting Webinar Takeaways
I watched a webinar yesterday morning on a site called New Horizons and they shared some hopeful new developments in glaucoma research so I thought I'd share them on here: Vitamin B3 Nicotinamide showed slight improvement in the vision of the participants of a limited study. It could possibly be neuroprotective

First diagnosis finally
I don’t no how I feel about this. Not sure I lf I am happy or sad. But today after months of eye hospital visits I have been diagnosed with severe autoimmune inflammatory eye disease and given immunosuppression eye drops and more steroids. My rheumatologist has now handed me over to the connective tissue

Double vision while bending over
I went back up to 40mg Prednisolone on Thursday as a result of a GCA flare. No symptoms on Thursday or Friday, but then today I've had six short periods of double vision (which I was having when first diagnosed back in January, and then during the first part of this flare). Three of today's were while

DVLA Visual Field Test
Hi, I’ve just got my letter from DVLA asking me to arrange a VFT as expected. However, I’ve only ever had one VFT and this is the first time for DVLA and I am nervous about it. It doesn’t help that it’s at Specsavers who I went to 5 times in 2019 telling them I had a problem with my vision and they

Besremi in Prague
The Municipal Court in Prague has ruled that the insurance company is obliged to approve an extraordinary reimbursement for the client's treatment with the medicinal product Besremi. At the same time, in his judgment, he explained the relationship between on-label and off-label treatment. In a dispute

Finding the right housing solution for ADHD
I am 29 years old and have a huge problem being financially independent and standing on my own. I take Adderall 30mg XR for the past 10 years (it helps). I also just finished EMDR therapy which was helpful for my PTSD. My biggest problem now is finding the way to generate enough income to be fully independent

Yellow skin after injecting methotrexate!
So very random. I inject methotrexate and this morning I used my thigh as the injection site but now my skin is yellow around the area. This hasn’t happened before. Any idea ?

W4R2 - it's getting easier
Evening 🏃♀️ 🏃♂️, I just completed W4R2 and after my last post and reading recommendation, not even my own head got in the way. 😃 My problem is this. Almost 4 years ago I was struck with Bell's Palsy and to this day the right side of my face is paralysed with no hope of recovery. The only blessing

Traumatic afternoon at eye clinic!
Had an appointment yesterday afternoon at 1.45pm to check my eye pressures. Got there, only to be told that my appointment for some unknown reason had been cancelled! I hadn't received any communication to let me know, so had to wait for about 20 minutes while the receptionist looked for my notes and
