Can you have thyroidectomy For repeated Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis??
I’m finding the rollercoaster unbearable and wondering if any members have had a
thyroidectomy
for Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis? And if so, I’m the UK? Thanks for any thoughts

Are these results reliable considering that I did not cease taking B complex a week before the blood test?
Have had a
thyroidectomy
. Question is: are these results reliable enough (considering the biotin issue that can shew results) to warrant either an increase or decrease of either levo or NDT? Based on the numbers what thyroid medication should i increase or decrease?

Interpreting results
I’ve had a total
thyroidectomy
due to papillary cancer and had a couple of parathyroidectomies. And a non malignant brain tumour previously, meningioma. Has anyone else experienced this or knows what this might mean? Many thanks

Iodine plus levothyroxine after Thyroidectomy?
Hi there. I had my thyroid removed since 2018, has anyone taken the violet iodine brand (molecular iodine), or some other along with levothyroxine? I have read that iodine helps in fibrocystic mastopathy, muscle aches, premenstrual syndrome, POS, etc. Levothyroxine has not been enough for me and T3

Whats everyone’s opinion on this (long)
I started exercising 4 weeks ago after being taken out of the exercise arena after
thyroidectomy
which left me with a horrific psoriatic arthritis flare that has been ongoing for 5 years now and I finally feel like some of my pain is starting to alleviate however during my exercise (walking) at times

Total thyroidectomy
I was advised that a total
thyroidectomy
was the best course of action which I had in September 2021. Following the surgery, I was advised there was a 30% chance of malignancy and that samples had been sent for evaluation. Luckily they came back as benign.

Advice would be greatly appreciated
I had a total
thyroidectomy
, 1st op last December, second Feb this year and then RAI Treatment in March. I’ve been on levothyroxine since Feb, my dose has been changed a few times. I’m currently on 125mcg and 150mcg alternate days.

Links between pernicious anaemia and kidney function?
I've recently had some blood tests as part of a pre op as I'm having a total
thyroidectomy
next month.

Levo and anticoagulants
However I am due to have
thyroidectomy
soon and wondered whether the medication I am prescribed for the replacement of thyroid will upset my anticoagulant medication. I am on Edoxaban anticoagulant. I am new to this site.

Thyroidless
The surgeon not only removed 2 1/2 parathyroid glands but also did a complete
thyroidectomy
. There was no cancer. The surgeon said my thyroid was small and fragile (I suspect he didn't know what he was doing. I live in the U.S.) For a few years, I was only on T4 replacement and felt terrible.

Where does T4 to T3 conversion take place?
But Paul Robinson writes in "The Thyroid Patient´s Manual" (p. 142): "If you have lost thyroid tissue through a
thyroidectomy
or through Hashimoto´s thyroiditis, you will also have lost a substantial amount of T4 to T3 production. The thyroid gland converts more T4 than any other tissue".

DHEA Unconjugated low… TSH unreliable??
TSH wasn’t measurable until 8 months post
thyroidectomy
. Now 2+ years post
thyroidectomy
still sooo symptomatic. TSH <1, but swollen, breathless, muscle aches, blurry vision, puffy watery eyes.

T4 and TSH results - under active?
My mother is under active and I had graves thyrotoxocosis and had to have a
thyroidectomy
. I also suffer with ferritin and was under the impression that optimal is at least 50 and anything under should have an iron infusion - irrespective of whether your iron levels are ok.

Thyroid surgery - should I go ahead?
I've been to see a consultant who has recommended a hemi-
thyroidectomy
. The only effects I'm getting is if I sleep on my back I wake up as if I'm choking and I have some silent reflux. The consultant said I might end up with a damaged voice box from surgery. Any advice please?
