Thyroid Medication Generating High Glucose Blood Levels
Before my
thyroidectomy
I had no issue with cholesterol or blood glucose levels. After my total
thyroidectomy
I was started on Synthroid. Immediately my Blood Glucose level increased and I once was considered pre-diabetic. The only thing the doctor said was “that happens with some folks.”

Latest blood test results, where do I start?!
I'm on the waitlist for a total
thyroidectomy
but until then I'm just trying to improve my symptoms (mainly lack of patience, irritability, low libido, fatigue, anxiety etc) and it's hard to know where to start!

Thriva Blood test results- some help please :)
Background: I have had a
thyroidectomy
8 years ago, have since been on thyroxine. Varied mcgs, but have never felt quite right, low energy etc. I am also borderline aneamic, with the doctors giving me supplements when they feel like it basically!

Iodine
Hi A quick summary, I had a partial
thyroidectomy
20+ years ago. Currently take T4 and T3. But I also have to take calcium because of low blood levels. I take seaweed calcium because I’ve read it’s better for bones (I have low bone density), but I’ve just noticed it contains iodine.

Thyroidectomy / symptoms query
There is currently at least a one year wait for surgery (total
thyroidectomy
) in the NHS so I am on that waiting list, as if I have to take definitive action at some point in the next decade I'm more in the mind to just get it done, rather than have all of the ups and downs.

Can anyone explain what this means?
Later I assumed it had been Graves because I had a partial
thyroidectomy
. But I found this recently on a medical letter, and it doesn't mention Graves. Can anyone tell me what it actually means? Many thanks

Please help interpret my bloods since T3 added
Back in November on 150mg my bloods were as follows:- TSH 0.1 (0.27 - 4.2) T4 22.8 (12 -22) T3 4.96 (3.1 - 6.8) I was still symptomatic and my nails and hair have changed since my
thyroidectomy
. I finally saw an NHS Endo in November who reduced T4 to 100mcg and added T3 10mcg x 2 daily.

How Can I Improve Hypo Symptoms without Causing Arrhythmia and Results of Thyroid and Adrenal Tests
(I have Hashimoto's and had a partial
thyroidectomy
in the 1990s due to Graves). The issue is that every time I try to increase my NDT dose, even by as little as an eighth of a grain, I get more frequent episodes of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF).

Anyone had RAI or thyroidectomy for recurrent chronic thyroiditis?
I was interested to know as this is clearly a very damaged thyroid, at what point will they knock it out of play with RAI or
thyroidectomy
? Has anyone had experience of this?

Is my FT4 too high to add T3?
So I had a
thyroidectomy
for papillary cancer. I’ve been on T4 synthroid for 3 years. Various dose changes throughout. The goal is to suppress the TSH. No matter the dose change, my FT4 hangs at the higher range.

Levothyroxine dosage after thyroidectomy
Had a
thyroidectomy
(no cancer) in 2010, and the natural thyroid med has gone downhill. Anybody else in the same boat? I am elderly and weigh 120 lbs. Just curious how much of the synthetic meds have worked for you.

Has anyone felt better on just T4 rather than T4/T3?
I was on T4 only for 20 years after a partial
thyroidectomy
and was actually pretty ok on it. I then saw an endo about 4 years ago for hyperparathyroidism caused by two parathyroid tumours.

7 weeks after partial thyroidectomy and request help with test and levo dosage.
Had partial
thyroidectomy
7 weeks ago and now TSH is 7.2. Thanks to all who helped me when I was feeling terrible post surgery!. The irony is now I feel great. The doctor wants me on Synthroid (he will not prescribe generic ( Levo) 75 mg. I had ferritin tested and Vit D by my request.

Not sure about radioactive iodine- best way to get a second opinion?
Hi All, I had a partial
thyroidectomy
in approx 2005 when I was 12, removing a rapidly growing benign nodule on my right side. I've been fine for years, and my TSH levels have apparently been within normal range when tested since.
