I began experiencing a lot of leg pain at the beginning of March and was diagnosed with deep vein
thrombosis
(DVT) and began a blood thinner called Eliquis. Two weeks later I had a resurgence of severe leg pain and was diagnosed with more DVTs along with a pulmonary embolism.

Rather, the review authors indicate that it is reasonable to believe that the accelerated dosing regimen may potentially minimize the risk of
thrombosis
and hemorrhage associated with an under-dosing during dose titrations.

Just diagnosed with Osteoporosis, rock and a hard place...
I also have chronic deep vein
thrombosis
for which I am on lifetime blood thinners. That means no food high in vitamin K. I'm also disabled in my right leg and hip due to a non-union fracture of my femur from a near fatal car accident(it's 1/2" shorter than the left).

Good appt with MPN Specialist
My MPN Specialist in general is fine with platelets <600 given no history of
thrombosis
and me being <65, but he would like to see them in range (<450) if at all possible.

Increased Platelets
My platelets as of 2 months ago were over 500 and when I mentioned I was concerned she stated there is new research that states that increased platelets do not cause
thrombosis
. Well, this is how I found out I had ET because of a thrombotic event. Has anyone else heard this new information?

ET-The mental aspect
She is generally against any treatment at this stage, especially with Hydrea, as she does not believe that controlling platelet counts has a huge impact on
thrombosis
and certainly none on progression. It could in fact increase chances for a more aggressive transformation.

Dads Heart Attack- should GP have investigated heart further?
My dear father had a Coronary
Thrombosis
major heart attack and passed away one saturday evening in October. What I cannot get passed is that he went to his GP on the Thursday due to shoulder pain, and was sent to the hospital for an xray on the Friday to check if the shoulder pain was muscular.

Autumn Booster Vaccinations
The Cerebral venous sinus
thrombosis
associated with the Astra Zeneca vaccine was 1. Extarordinarily RARE! 2. Not associated with the same mechanism as APS 3. Was reported with the other vaccines as well - except this was not well publicised!

Side Effects of Rivaroxaban?
In my early 40's I was prescribed Warfarin after DVT
thrombosis
in leg and two PE's circa 2004. Had what I would call accepted side effects, feeling cold, easily bruised had to change my diet slightly as grapefruit juice, cranberries, leafy greens were apparently not good whilst taking Warfarin.
