Surgery and aspirin: what protocol with APS?
I have a diagnosis of Double APS since 2007, with no
thrombosis
and taking 100 daily mg of Aspirin. For the past 2 months I've been following a treatment based on Methylprednisolone infusions (2.5 g) and Oral prednisone (of which I'm currently taking 5 mg. Per day).

Post-infusion pain in arm
MO had him come in for an ultrasound to rule out
thrombosis
/clot in veins (that was fine), and an MRI to look for tissue damage/necrosis.

Am I being stupid by delaying treatment for mild hyperthyroidism when I don't have any symptons?
Perhaps it was just an old age MOT or maybe because their nurse mis-diagnosed
thrombosis
in my leg for arthritis and it was only my breast consultant who raised the alarm for immediate tests to be carried out for

Deep Vein Thrombosis
hi all well 2023 has started badly for me. I had Covid, for the second time, quite badly at Christmas. Following that I had horrendous pain and swelling in my right leg. After crying with the pain I managed to see a superb young doctor who sent me straight off for a D-Dimar blood test, which showed I

Could hibernating bears help with MPNs?
https://www.sciencenews.org/article/hibernating-bears-blood-clots While not overtly related to MPNs it is an intriguing thought that there may be another mechanism that could be used to reduce risk of
thrombosis
. This type of base science research can yield substantial benefits.

Low-dose Aspirin.
In fact, a deep-vein
thrombosis
increases the short-term risk of a PCa diagnosis in otherwise healthy men. Also, men with PCa have an increased risk for cardiovascular disease. A risk that only increases with ADT. The appeal of aspirin in PCa is the prevention of clots.

Thoughts on MAJIK trial outcomes
Resistant / intolerant patients have an increased risk of
thrombosis
, hemorrhage and disease progression / transformation to PET-MF / AML (although I could not find / understand any quantification to indicate the extent of this risk) 4.

Am I being stupid by delaying treatment for mild hyperthyroidism when I don't have any symptons?
I am 72 years old and following on from a diagnosis of
thrombosis
in my legs in 2021, for which I am taking 10mg of rivaroxaban, the Doctors at my local Surgery arranged for me to have blood tests which indicated hyperthyrodism.

So much confusion so much pain
She developed varacies from the Portal
Thrombosis
. There was a precautionary banding done, while they figured out how to return proper blood flow. While reviewing the options. The mass vanished, the varacies vanished. We thought it was divine intervention.

My precious daughter
● In November 2014 my daughter unfortunately suffered from an extremely rare type of stroke - Cerebral Venous Sinus
Thrombosis
. One third of her Superior Sagittal Sinus vein was blocked with a massive clot. She was so lucky to have survived that stroke.

Is it really necessary to take Alendronic Acid with these results?
The only other medication I am taking at present is10mg rivaroxaban for the
thrombosis
of the leg (this may have been caused by the Astra Zeneca vaccine) I believe I may have arthritus in one knee.

Thromboxane & Aspirin
Thromboxane ("thrombo" as in
thrombosis
) in cancer is a result of chronic nuclear factor-kappaB [NFkB] activation. One of the many proteins produced is COX-1, which acts on the omega-6 fatty acid arachidonic acid to generate thromboxane A2. Aspirin is a cox-1 inhibitor.

JAK2V617F Allele Burden in Polycythemia Vera: Burden of Proof
The JAK2V617F variant allele frequency (VAF) is a key determinant of outcomes in PV, including
