Bone Health issues re:Bisphosphonnates, etc. ????
I'm back again for further research about the bone density medications, and now wondering about the use of bisphosphonates, denosumab and
teriparatide
? My PCP is suggesting these, but he's not current with the research about estrogen and testosterone use for PCa care.

Has anyone been on Prolia since they were in their 50s or early 60s and stayed on it long term?
Recently finished two years of
teriparatide
with nominal improvement to bone density, but still severe osteoporosis.

what’s next after teriparatide
What have people taken after finishing
teriparatide
? I have a potential problem now as my DEXA was due on Monday which would have given me time at least to discuss a follow on with the specialist nurse.

What's next?
I’m coming to the final month of
teriparatide
. I’ve had no follow up from the bone clinic at all. The
teriparatide
was prescribed the day before first lockdown and it took 2-3 months at least to sort out getting it delivered so there was quite a delay starting it.

Vitamin K2MK7 and Teriparatide
I’ve been on
Teriparatide
for 5 months and I also take Vitamin D3 1000 iu. Would it be ok to add in Vitamin K2MK7 to this mix? If so, which is the best brand and dose to go for? Very many thanks.

Label Change on Forteo (teriparatide) for those who might have missed the news from the FDA and Eli Lilly
“I thought it might be helpful to post the Label Change on Forteo (
teriparatide
) for those who might have missed the news from the FDA and Eli Lilly. We can now take it beyond the two year limit that was originally on it from the manufacturer and the FDA.

ZOLENDRONIC ACID VERSUS PROLIA?
We did discuss
Teriparatide
, but decided to hold that in reserve for possible future use. My worry is the risk of side effects with the infusion. I understand it's a similar type of drug to Prolia (I may have that wrong), so I'm concerned about getting the same horrible side effects.

Update following dexa scan / nurse visit .
Fortunately I had done my homework and read up on
Teriparatide
( which was mentioned on here ) . Nurse and consultant have both agreed this is the best thing for me ( hopefully). Just waiting for it to be passed now by the higher ups . Thank you all as always for the input you provide .

(Part 3!) At long last, about to start Teriparatide.
Hi Dear Friends, Steve on behalf of my gorgeous wife Margaret again! Having had her first Forsteo pen sat in our fridge for weeks, we did start to dispare when we received a text from the Lloyds Pharmacy home care team stating that many of the nurses are absent due to Covid. We hope and pray they are

Low 24 hr Urinary Calcium
Hi I have osteoporosis of the lumbar spine and am being considered for
Teriparatide
as a treatment followed by one dose of zolendronic acid. Tests prior to the decision being made have shown a low 24 hour urinary calcium level at 5.4 mmol (range is between 9.0 mmol and 17 mmol).

Waiting for a decision on Teriparatide
My question then is for those of you already on
Teriparatide
, "How long did the qualifying process take? On paper, my wife qualifies for this drug but why does something of such importance to the patient take so long. We live in Surrey UK. Thank you.

Waiting for a decision on Teriparatide (Part 2)
Dear friends, This is Steve again on behalf of Margaret my dear wife. Just as you dare to think matters are slowly improving, this has happened! Margaret got out of bed on Sunday morning and went to the bathroom. As she stood up she felt a vice like grip from her spine, around her ribs and crushing

Waiting for a decision on Teriparatide ( Update )
The Biologics Pharmacist 'phoned Margaret this morning and confirmed that she is to receive
Teriparatide
for an initial 18 months. We're now waiting for 'the nurse' to contact us and arrange for delivery.

Teriparatide as a treatment for osteoporosis
However, my latest DEXA shows a T score of -4.2 in the L4 disc of the spine and I may be considered for
teriparatide
. Any thoughts/experience of this drug therapy please?

Parathyroid Hormone Treatment for Osteoporosis
I have quite severe osteoporosis and the hospital consultant has recommended I start a 2 year course of daily
Teriparatide
injections, which I understand is parathyroid hormone. Does anyone have experience of this? I have already had an L2 compression fracture.
