Concerned about pains
At the end of March my oncologist put me on
tamoxifen
tablets as my ca125 had slightly risen from seven to nineteen. I had bloods taken yesterday and see oncologist next Friday. I have been having a few stinging pains now and then, not there all the time.

SHARE's AI & Tamoxifen Support Group Meeting, 5/18 @ 6 pm
I wanted to invite those in the NYC area who are on aromatase inhibitors and
tamoxifen
to come to our monthly support group at SHARE's Manhattan offices. The next one is being held this Thursday, May 18 at 6 pm, 165 West 46th Street, Suite 706. I co-facilitate with Mary Vetting, who's just great.

I've been taking Sertraline for 2 months and last week at at review with my gp was told that it interacts with

Tamoxifen and Prozac - a review
If I remember correctly a few months ago there was a discussion regarding Prozac and
tamoxifen
not working together, as I'm on both, I think at the time I tried to find out if it was worth changing one or the other, at the time it was a case of stay as I am.

Ibrance after anti-hormone drugs?
Am Est+ and have cycled through Arimidex,
Tamoxifen
, Faslodex shots, and am now on Xeloda for almost 2 years. My Oncologist wants to put me on Ibrance with Letrozole next, but a consulting Oncologist says NO!

Unsure what to do next
However if I'm negative I have been offered weekly taxol,
tamoxifen
, carbo or do nothing. Taxol offers a 30% chance of having any effect at all. Taxol is the best option according to the oncologist although he thought it was not a good idea in March as my performance status was poor.

New Oncologist
I feel as if my situation is somewhat unique as initially my estrogen was very high and I have been treated with both
Tamoxifen
and Arimidex. From what I read this could mean that my cancer is not considered basil-like.

Feeling Low
Once my body has adjusted back he said he will try me on another drug, but wouldn't necessarily be
Tamoxifen
. Obviously have mixed feelings about this decision! On top of everything I have had a really bad sinus infection on my second course of antibiotics but they don't seem to be working.

Raloxifene (Evista)
Instead she wanted me to consider
Tamoxifen
. But
tamoxifen
is contraindicated for other medical issues I have. So she is recommending Raloxifene (Evista) It is an estrogen modulator that decreases the risk of breast cancer in postmenopausal women.

ITS SO DIFFERENT
Today I have minimal pain and minimal side effects from
tamoxifen
, tomorrow maybe not. Im so grateful that im a survivor and tomorrow maybe not. I am learning to take it day by day and except that I am different. Pray hard and then I pray Harder. Love that I can vent to people that understand.

Exhausted !!
Tamoxifen
for the next 10 years!! I returned to work in August, following a year off, and coped well with the return! But the last month or so, I have been so exhausted, I could sleep at a drop of a hat, and have on occasions nodded of at my desk.

Give your Hints n Tips regarding taking Tamoxifen
There are a lot of posts about the side effects experienced with taking
Tamoxifen
. I will be starting next week and it fills with me dread.... As there is a lot of discussion about what seems to work for different people - I think it would be great to have hints and tips all on one post.
