Life's ups and downs
Last Friday I saw the consultant again and I'll be seeing her again - (this time on the NHS), on the 30th of this month when - after a dexa scan, I'll begin treatment with
Tamoxifen
. After four to six months, depending on how the lump responds I'll have either a lumpectomy or a mastectomy.

Delaying starting tamoxifen
As my cancer was ER+ I now need to start
tamoxifen
. My question is have any of you ladies delayed starting
tamoxifen
by a few weeks? I have a much needed holiday booked for the first two weeks of August & ideally want to start on my return which would be 6 weeks post mastectomy.

To complicate matters I'm on
tamoxifen
for prevention of breast cancer as have a strong family history of breast, colon cancers, and my mum had ovarian cancer as well as breast and colon cancer. I'm so worried there's something really wrong due to my symptoms.

now and last week was my second dose . The first lot that I had , had no side effects . This time the side effects were awful I slept for 3 days , I felt sick and lost my appetite. Does anyone else take this form of chemo and if so how do you handle it ?

FDA-Approved Treatments for HR+, HER2- Premenopausal Patients
•
Tamoxifen
(Nolvadex) or Fareston (Toremifene) with or without an LHRH agonist is also a first line therapeutic option. Combining ovarian suppression and
Tamoxifen
or Fareston improves survival over either treatment alone.

Raised MCV
I was on
Tamoxifen
for 5 years and am having a break to see if I feel any better not being on it, but sadly after 3 months I feel just the same so will probably start taking it again. Any advice from you very knowledgeable people would be much appreciated. Thank you

Approved Treatment Options for HR+, HER2- Postmenopausal Women
•
Tamoxifen
(Nolvadex) or Fareston (Toremifene) alone (rarely used as a first-line therapy). Second Line Hormonal and Targeted Treatment Options for Postmenopausal Patients in the US depend upon what endocrine therapy had previously been taken: •Possibly any of the above therapies.

Drug interaction
I also have to take
tamoxifen
, calcium. Omega 3 and vitamins D3 and K2. So far I take my omniprazole and prednisolone early morning then
tamoxifen
two hours later followed by calcium and K2 after lunch and calcium and D3/Omega 3 after tea. Have I left enough gaps to avoid any drug interaction?

Tamoxifen and Xeloda
Has anyone taken Tamoxofin in combination with Xeloda? My wife is HR+, HER2- with MBC and there's a possibility this combo will be prescribed. If you have experience with this combo can you please share it? Thanks in advance.

Is Proton Pencil Beam an option for salvage radiation of a tumor located in left seminal vesicle and extending to rectum wall?
If this is not an option, I am planning to start 150- mg Bicalutamide monotherapy along with 10 mg of
tamoxifen
to reduce my PSA which is now 57.1 having increased from 34.7 in April when I was at NIH for the latest scan. Your thoughts please. Thank you.

Methotrexate and Tamoxifen anyone?
I have also started
Tamoxifen
and it is clear this is "potentiating" (as my Rheumy put it) the effect of reducing my neutrophils further. I was at 1.0 the other week and then 1.4. I have to say I feel utterly awful. Not felt this bad since 2016 pre diagnosis/meds.

Hello from a not so tech savvy newbie
I know I need to exercise but I'm so very unfit and lack energy due to long term
Tamoxifen
( Breast cancer meds). I'm full of good intentions, I just need the will power to follow through!

Hypothyroid - Urged Tamoxifen or Evista to prevent breast cancer
She said that I would probably be urged to take
Tamoxifen
or Evista to prevent future breast cancer. The surgeon said the same thing during the pre-surgical appointment.
