Surgery coming up...will it affect my thyroid?
A bit of a silly question.... I have surgery coming up in 4 weeks (prolapse repair) and I'm wondering if it'll make my thyroid problems worse afterwards? I ask this because I'm pretty sure the massive blood loss (3.8 litres to be exact) and the whole trauma I had with my emergency C-section nearly

NHS can’t help. Try mushrooms
hi all, This is my first post. I was surgically diagnosed with endo in 2020 at 39, after 3 years of difficulties to conceive and 13 years of approaching various GPs with symptoms to be told it was “normal”. I have many issues with food and my bowel over the last 6 years (IBS, SIBI etc) a recent colonoscopy

There is hope
Hi all - I wanted to update everyone on a positive experience and to hopefully debunk some of the myths. For context I live in the Republic of Ireland and also have private medical insurance (this is very common in Ireland). 55, male and generally fit. I was having episodes of waking up, bolt upright

Step 2 - mpMRI done, results not good, I'm scared now
Hi all, I've been enjoying following many of your stories and it has helped me prepare for this journey. Thanks to everyone who graciously shares and responds here. My original post and bio tell my story, but I have to add this new information from my mpMRI this morning. Here it is: IMPRESSION:

OCD, BPD, Physical Disability, and Caregiver Hell
I don't know why I was born, or for what reason. If there is a reason it must be because I am evil. I am 49, for 30 years I've battled "Harm OCD", which is the fear/urge/obsession that I'm going to harm/kill someone. In this case it was always my parents. I've probably had Borderline Personality

now what?
had my endo surgery last year, had some complications and was told I had an ovary adhered. Waited months, was in pain for months to go back for another scan to be told it’s not adhered, and that everything looks normal. No idea why I’m in the pain I’m in, or what’s causing it, all they could say was

Residual tumour regrowth
Hi there, I had surgery in 2021 to remove a large AN. My follow-up MRI scans showed that all was well--until the last one, which shows regrowth. It's slight (from 17 x 5 mm to 22 x 7 mm) but it still really scares me. My consultation with my neurosurgeon (the one who saved me before) isn't until the

Drugs after stent
On 5th July I had a stent placed in my right coronary artery which was blocked to 94% in one place. I am grateful for this life-saving surgery. I also have paroxysmal atrial fibrillation which is becoming more frequent. I am on a whole raft of drugs now and they are seriously impinging on my quality

Hello 👋 members , I just wanted to pop back and say thank you all for commenting on my posts regarding my John who has primary hyperparathyroidism . My goodness we didn’t have a very good experience today at local doctors 🙈 He wasn’t concerned with blood pressure and wasn’t going to do a referral
