How to Know When to Seek Therapy?
People often wonder. When does it make sense to begin therapy? Therapists use two primary reasons to see if treatment would be recommended. We call it level of distress and impairment in functioning. The simple translation for you is how upset do you feel about what you are experiencing, and how much

I can't go on
My life has completely fallen apart and I am too old and tired to keep on fighting. I lost the only person who ever loved me, my other Estelle, in 2018 and whatever joy and hope that I had died with her. I have been struggling to survive for the 2+ years since her death but life has become too much

Memory loss. And patience
Does anyone have as forgetful of a mind as I do ... I can't remember anything..like the natural things we need to remember don't remember to remember if that makes sense. All the way to me arguing my presence in places and then it all a sudden comes to me I was there... Or I do remember....I have a lot

Newbie with a question
Hi, am new here. Just had a first meeting with a therapist who suspects ADHD strongly but wants to test me further. I am an adult. I've always known something was up with me, but am reeling a little absorbing this news. I am curious as to how many on here suspect that their ADHD is trauma induced behavior

Update following first neurology appointment
An update on Martin following his first, rather bizarre, appointment with the neurologist who was a locum. The neurologist put all his questions about symptoms to me rather than Martin which I found very strange. I thought I might have to chip in where M couldn’t remember but I didn’t expect that and

Spouse Participation in Therapy/Counseling
My challenge is emotional reactivity, something that impacts my relationship with my wife. How common is it for the non ADHD spouse to participate in therapy/coaching? My therapist is not eager to include her in my sessions, but I don't see how therapy can be effective without my wife's participation

Discharge
Not really a question I guess. But we have today had a case conference with the rehab unit which my husband is in. We are in month 4 and a something since he left home. He has been in the unit for about 3 months. When he went in he couldn't stand, balance, his left side was paralyzed, he couldn't

Help Me Understand
Hello! My husband has ADHD, anxiety, depression and OCD. Lately he has pushed all focus to one subject ( a religious group within our faith) and spends every moment he has watching YouTube, reading articles online, ordering books on the subject (most of which are never opened) while all other areas

Recovery and hope for you! With new things to try!
I haven’t been on here in a couple months, I got on here to seek some support from others and I definitely got the support but I was wanting more. I wanted to help myself and not think I was in a constant rut of anxiety and or depression. After doing some of my own research I eventually stumbled upon

Anxious
I’m feeling a little anxious being separated from my wife and my 15 year old grandson she said I don’t love her and it’s doing a job on me I do love her and am doing what my long time therapist has suggested I do and read between therapy meetings just feeling a little down, thanks for reading.

Eastern Philosophy Is the Cradle for Western psychology! ❤️☀️☮️☯️🌸🧘🏻♀️🌈🙏
Clearly, you can see the similarity between Taoism which already began 400 B.C. and Western
psychotherapy

Fertility therapist or general?
Hey everyone, I was just wondering for those of you who have sought therapy during your IVF treatment, did you go with a therapist that specialises in fertility or with a generally trained therapist? Not sure where to look, and my work insurance doesn’t cover anything fertility related including therapy

Friends with Benefits
Anyone who has read the majority of my posts know that I am living with my best friend and her son. If you have read the posts you would also know that I am madly in love with her which tends to complicate my life at times. She decided recently that the anything sexual between us was possible as long

Help finding a therapist
Hi! I'm new and kinda lost. I'm hoping someone can please me. We had my son tested last year for ADHD. We received the test results the same week as the pandemic. He is 10 yrs old and in 4th grade. His pediatrician has him on Focalin XR since last summer, which I think helps some days and not others
