Endo switching me from T3 only to NDT.

Hadn't been feeling great so did blood test and my TSH seem to be superhigh again. results below. I am on T3 only and have autoimmune thyroditis. Endo suggested trying NDT instead of increasing T3 again ( I am on 60mcg of T3 ) Has anyone done this and any advice will be greatly appreciated. Endo suggested

Input on Treatment

After my MRI showed a PIRADS 5 lesion, my biopsy came back with a Gleason 4+3 in 5/13 cores. PSA measures 7.5, but would be 15 without my daily Finasteride. ECE was suspected, but my PSMA PET confirmed no spread outside the prostate. That’s a relief. Graded as unfavorable intermediate.  I‘ve decided

Weight Gain after thyroidectomy

A useful, but still with incomplete understanding review of thyroid hormone treatment after thyroidectomy and weight gain. There are some useful points about FT3 and the effect of lower FT3 on propensity for weight gain. Open paper. Folia Medica 63(6):834-8DOI: 10.3897/folmed.63.e59851834 Weight

Thyroid and Supplements to help Perimenopause

Hi, I have Hypothyroidism and take Thyroxine and NDT. I have been having symptoms over the last 6-8 months similar to Thyroid which I now believe to be Perimenopause. I started on Collagen which has helped with joint pain and saw a GP last week who suggested Black Cohosh and Red Clover to see how

Article: ADT May Increase Risk of Death From Cardiovascular Disease in Prostate Cancer

Conclusion: ADT recipients had a significantly increased risk of death from stroke and ischemic heart disease. My thought: Maybe low dose aspirin isn't a bad idea when on ADT. https://www.cancertherapyadvisor.com/home/cancer-topics/prostate-cancer/prostate-cancer-androgen-deprivation-therapy-cardiovascular-disease-death-risk

New to the club of Advanced Stage 4

It was just recently discovered that my PCa has metastasized and spread to my spine. Originally diagnosed (at age 54) in 2015 with Gleason 3+4 and contained to the prostate we opted for focal laser ablation. All went well with that but, a 3T MRI in 2017 showed small recurrence so, another FLA was done

my humble opinion

Personally, I am dealing with advanced stage 4 with bone involvement so, with that as a back drop, here is my humble opinion. If nothing is showing up on scans or mri’s I would chose active surveillance. ADT is a heavy hammer for something that may not even be there. PSA is an indicator only. Quality

Side Effects of Docetaxel vs Cabazitaxel

Been at this for over 6 years now, diagnosed at stage 4 and ever since on ADT, plus 6 cycles of Docetaxel, Abiraterone and Enzalutamide. Looks like its time for Cabazitaxel. My doctor is recommending that as the next treatment. I'd like to know from those who have had both, how do the side effects compare

BioTE

has anyone heard of BioTE? It is a bioidentical hormone replacement pellet that is supposed to help with osteoporosis and other health issues. Has anyone tried it? What are your thoughts or did it work for you? Unfortunately it is not covered under insurance. They insert the pellets in your hip
