ADT or no ADT

Starting proton therapy soon, urologist and oncologist recommend 6 mos of ADT. The latest stody for unfavorable is a difference of .7 years?( hard to understand the study results). Trying to make the decision whether or not to do the ADT.

Proton Therapy verses SBRT side effect differences

Are the side-effect profiles between Proton Therapy and SBRT essentially the same? The Proton Therapy advocates say the side effect profile from Proton Therapy is significantly less than SBRT or other External Beam types of radiation, but are there any side by side comparisions to show this?

Needing Advice Please- Didn’t get the results I wanted

My nuclear medicine doctor also offered Ac225 or proton therapy to the bone or prostate gland. Feeling really desperate unfortunately…. Any insight would be greatly appreciated so I can go in with my best questions this Wednesday.

Trouble urinating after fiducial placement

Sent home next day after CT and MRI simulations for Proton therapy with indwelling cath. 4 hr miserable drive. Had severe bladder spasms with pain and removed catheter in shower for relief! Now since then stream is very small and difficulty starting. Was on Orgovyx two moths prior to fiducials.

Plain English for a layman please!

I'm set to start proton therapy around 2/1/23. What brought the question to mind (not for the first time) was Tall Allen's comment in another thread about whether a particular case was considered "curable" or only "treatable."

Milestone Day

I had my final TreStar injection in April and my Last Zytiga/Prednisone yesterday. 2 years of treatment (also had proton therapy) following the Stampede protocol. Now it is time to watch and wait! Prayers up that the testosterone returns, and the PSA does not!

Looks like I have a BCR, 9 years after Proton Beam Therapy in Korea

In early 2013, I had 28 doses of PBT radiation at the Korean National Cancer Centre. I most impressive facility that gave me a great outcome. PSA was negligible until 3 years back. Last year my PSA was 0.34. A year later (July 22) it came in at 0.75. The question is where do I go from here. I should

Seeking Data ???

That category is men who have had a radical prostatectomy (RP) and thereafter experienced biochemical recurrence (BCR) and used  proton beam therapy (PBT) radiation as the treatment following that BCR. I’d like to know several things. These are the questions for which I’m seeking information.

Information about a RO for treatment following BCR at a proton beam therapy facility

Greetings fellow travelers. I'm seeking recommendations about an experienced RO at a proton beam facility for treatment following BCR. Any information that you might be able to offer would be appreciated.

Are MRI with coil and biopsy needed for BCR recurrence in prostate for cryotherapy, HIFU, Tulsa Pro or Brachytherapy?

Had 6-week proton therapy in June/July 2020. No hormone therapy. PSA went up in March 2022. Did 3T MRI in April and nothing showed up. Did Auxmin and PSMA scans and found one uptake in prostate, two lymph nodes in pelvic, a cluster of 3 slightly above pelvic and one suspicious uptake on 6th rib.

Pylarify and ADT question

He wants us to explore proton therapy as well since my dad had ulcerative colitis in 1990 which is completely under remission. Can someone throw light on SBRT vs IMRT vs Proton Therapy and Lupron Vs Firmagon vs Orgovyx. Thank you all.

Proton Beam

Hello, I don't know if it's possible to use for ovarian cancer but has anyone had proton beam therapy at all? Or if not directly on their ovaries for any spread of the disease? Thank you
