PSA post salvage radiation
He had clean margins and reached undetectable PSA after
Prostatectomy
. Near the end of 5th year after surgery his PSA became detectable. I’m confused, If clean margins how would cancer be outside the prostate? He did salvage radiation at .09 PSA.

Questions about medicare/insurance - turning 65
I foresee a bunch of expenses in my future (
prostatectomy
and pelvic lymph dissection, possible radiation…), and wonder what I should do regarding my pending Medicare enrollment. Do any of you older folks have any suggestions which way I should go? Medicare? Medicare & supplemental? Other?

Robot assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy - PSA confirms microscopy after surgery
PSA, 7 weeks after surgery, was 0.01 ug/L. Recall microscopy after surgery reported the tumour was no longer prostate confined with capsular penetration and extension into periprostatic fat. Tumour extended very close to the posterior surgical margin but in none of the sections did it reach this margin

New to the forum and doing Intermittent ADT
Things looked great after my
prostatectomy
, but then my PSA started rising a year later. Got a PSMA scan and no mets were detectable. Decided against radiation and went with ADT only. My plan is to do ADT intermittently to get the best quality of life possible. Just trying to manage this.

Advice on bloodwork after radiation treatment?
He was diagnosed with prostate cancer (a very low PSA) back in 2016, underwent a radical
prostatectomy
that year, and then radiation a year or two later to his pelvic area after a rise in PSA.

Erectile Leaking
I'm 2 months post robotic-
prostatectomy
. All went very well regarding surgery as is, my continued recovery. The one thing which I can't understand or work out is masturbation incontinence. 90% now I'm dry, just wearing a small dry pad. Doing my Kegel exercises every day, 3 times a day.

bladder neck invasion. Can it be radiated?
My husband had radical
prostatectomy
last week and the pathology report came back with “bladder neck invasion present”, in” right mid and superior posterior and left and right bladder neck”. I’m wondering is it possible to radiate that area after he heals from surgery?

Difficult decision before a robot assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy planned for March
The Urological surgeon said the team review recommended the lymph node be removed during
prostatectomy
. Given the 8 mm lung nodule was a false alarm I thought maybe the 6mm lymph node is also a false alarm.

After RP who goes over Pathology?
Received fresh, the specimen is labeled "prostate and pelvic lymph nodes", and consists of a 20.95 gram
prostatectomy
specimen including a 4.3 x 3.6 x 3.1 cm prostate and a 7.4 x 4.3 x 1.8 cm aggregate of lymph nodes and fibroadipose tissue.

Genistein potentiates the radiation effect on prostate carcinoma cells
In 2004, after my failed
prostatectomy
, I came across the Life Extension protocol for PCa (at that time). It included their Ultra Soy Extract. 5 caps provided a massive amount of genistein. LEF suggested taking this 4 times daily. I think that one bottle was $75 & I would need 4 for a month.

Decided to have a robot assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy - update
Reasons for my decision: I made a decision based on my understanding, see below. Radiation - no effect on urinary leakage, sexual function initially preserved but wanes for most, limited options for salvage - if cancer recurs treatment is palliative/non curative, long term radiation damage to bladder

For those on Lupron experiencing fatigue…
I have been on intermittent Lupron for over ten years after biological reoccurrence after robotic
prostatectomy
. Fortunately it has worked well to keep my psa in check but fatigue and general loss of stamina has kept me from engaging in many physical activities I used to enjoy.
