No more prostate
I have had a robotic
prostatectomy
complete removal. All tests say it was isolated and I wanted to have years with my family. I'm 51 and have 4 grown kids and a 6 yo and a 2.5 yo. Lots of memories and I didnt want to miss because of hospital visits.

Any thoughts on my next treatment plan?
I truly appreciate any thoughts on my current situation: I had a
prostatectomy
seven years ago followed by radiation leading to an undetectable PSA for two years.

Novel methods for mapping the cavernous nerves during radical prostatectomy.
Has there been progress in technologies to definitively assess whether nerves have been "spared" and "healing" is taking place following a

Ratio of periprostatic to subcutaneous fat thickness on MRI is an independent survival predictor in hormone-naïve men with advanced PCa
However, this was not practical for clinical reasons, as collection of sufficient quantities of periprostatic adipose tissue for the type of exploratory analysis described is only possible at the time of
prostatectomy
.

Men with Prostate Cancer can be Spared Radiotherapy after Surgery
This large RCT found that early salvage radiotherapy (SRT) is not inferior to 'standard' treatment with adjuvant RT (ART) with respect to biochemical failure in patients with pT3 disease and/or positive surgical margins (SMs) after radical
prostatectomy
(RP).

18F-fluciclovine PET-CT and 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET-CT in patients with early biochemical recurrence after prostatectomy: A prospective, single-...
The use of PSMA PET-CT scans resulted in higher detection rates, and therefore, this diagnostic modality was recommended when PET-CT imaging is considered for subsequent treatment management decisions in patients with prostate cancer and biochemical recurrence after radical

Watchful Waiting Worked
Nearly 3 yrs ago I chose radiation over radical
prostatectomy
to halt aggressively growing cancer. My PSA following radiation is now down to .020. I am grateful to my urologist and to those who have advised me and executed an apparently successful procedure.

Cialis max dose
7 months after Davinci
prostatectomy
. Hoping for a return to normalcy, but not yet. Also will use Bimix (but not on days I take more than my daily Cialis dose of 7.5 mg per day). This is my first post, so be gentle!

A difficult customer
After doing a lot of research, including reading many published medical papers I rejected both radical
prostatectomy
and ADT - the former just did not work as far as I could tell from the evidence and carried horrid QOL consequences and the latter was also not a "therapy" as far as I could tell.

Gleeson 9 (5+4), about to get PSA result around 1 year after surgery
Had a
prostatectomy
in mid-2018. Extensive cancer in large-sized prostate with extension to lymph nodes and seminal vesicle - affected nodes and areas removed in surgery. Lab report Gleeson 9 (5+4). PSA soon after surgery was negligible. Awaiting result of PSA blood test (12months after).

Sural Nerve Graft post RP to fix Erectile Dysfunction
Hi guys, I’ve been researching nerve grafting for Erectile dysfunction post radical
prostatectomy
. I just miss the good old days of spontaneity and the Tri-mix injections are...well...just not spontaneous. Do any of you have experience with this procedure?

Would appreciate Your Thoughts
I had a robotic
prostatectomy
in January, 2019. My highest psa prior to surgery was 9.0. The biopsy showed Gleason 9. The preoperative MRI and bone scan did not identify any lymph node or bone involvement.

Erleada failing?
To make a long story short, his
prostatectomy
failed. Lupron worked for about 12-15 months until he became castrate resistant in Dec. 2017. He underwent radiation which didn’t appear to work either.. in Sept. 2018 he began Erleada which was lowered his PSA from 2.3 to 0.21 (as of yesterday).
