Kidney Transplant Issues
I have PRA level sitting at zero so I do not think this a due to antibodies but more to the use of Calcineurin inhibitors like
prograf
as the type of scarring is consistent in what you see in a chronic nephrotoxicity from drugs such as cyclosporine and
prograf
.

Potential Prograf Shortage?
This concerns me as having had a liver transplant I am dependent on
Prograf
. Although this medicine is NOT mentioned in the article, I cannot remember an occasion in the last 12 years when I have received a box of
Prograf
designed for the UK market.

10 months post transplant recipient...side effects
I'm on
prograf
, cellcept and 5mg prednisone. Sleeping for the most part is pretty good. I do have nights where I can't sleep, but mostly I can sleep.

Medication Side Effects - mitigating or eliminating
How are you combating things like hair loss from
prograf
, weight gain, and viruses like shingles - all of which, would not be occurring if not for the anti rejection meds.

9 months post kidney transplant...side effects are changing
My doctor wants to wait until I'm at least a year out before changing to other meds related to
prograf
. Anyone with experience with this? I'm also on Cellcept which doesn't seem to bother me as much. Thanks!

Do meds change your taste buds?
I have heard that
Prograf
and other drugs can affect how food tastes. She is on tacro, prednisone and a bunch of other meds. She loves very salty food. She doesn't know any different, but for the adults have the medications changed how food tastes? Do you crave certain foods now?

Success!
I'm struggling to adapt to the
prograf
as it gives me the worst tremors and keeps me up at night. Otherwise, I'm walking everywhere and healing well. Thank you all for the unconditional support leading up to this!

New kidney precipitant - 4 months post
My new kidney is working great, however, I'm having a hard time dealing with some of the side effects from I believe is the
prograf
. It's been an emotional roller coaster. I will have weeks were I start to feel great then my meds get adjusted and I start to feel like crap.

Clinical trials: post transpant management of anti-rejection medications
I am currently on .5 mg
Prograf
x 2 and 500mg MMF x 1 which I realise is quite low. Is there anyone out there who has dropped these entirely? If so, could you share experiences, either here or via message.

Chronic kidney disease & haven't been told
My Tacrolimus level was 9 this time and I'm still confused why they are not changing
prograf
to something more gentle that will not affect the kidneys further. My tacrolimus level have been 7+ for months now but they just do not speak about minimising it.

Prograf side effects
Could this be side effect from
prograf
? Also the heartburn and indigestion issues, can they all be because of
prograf
? I've been on another transplant forum and a lot of people have said they've had GERD becauze of
prograf
.

Reduced immune suppression.
Recently I have been having kidney problems so my consultant has reduced
prograf
to help protect my kidneys. I have gone from 11mg per day to 8mg as well as 500mg twice a day of cellpet (mychophenolate). The last few days I've been experiencing tiredness, dizzy spells and nausea.

Liver Transplant - 2 Years On
Liver-wise I haven't had many problems since the transplant and I changed meds last year from
Prograf
to Advagraf. Started off at 4 mg of
Prograf
twice a day and now on Img Advagraf once a day (since Nov). The biggest problem I had was with
Prograf
side effect (ankle swelling).

Astellas / Prograf
Is this likely to affect the supply or availability of
Prograf
which they also market? I suspect it will not have an affect but would be interested in views more informed than mine.
