Advice regarding recent flare up please.
Hi, l have been tapering down my Pred and had reached 7mg. I can’t say l was pain free, but it wasn’t too bad. I have been under a lot of pressure from my Rheumatologist to taper off as quickly as possible. I had been dropping 1mg per month. In the last week my symptoms have worsened and l am in no

Anyone else on Pred. plus Sulfasalazine?
I've noticed that others are also on Methotrexate or Leflunomide along with their daily dose of
prednisone
. My dr. tried both of those at various times but I had unwelcome side effects from each.

4th course of Prednisolone this year
I was at GP last Tuesday as my asthma was very bad following a cold. Having to take my reliever 4 times every 4 hours. No temp or cough etc so given 7 days of 30mg Pred. Monday finished course, felt much worse, sore throat, aches etc. Still no temperature. Bad attack 4am with racing heart, BP 165/102

Bleed during TWW
Hi All, I seem to bleed during the TWW, first four ivf rounds I was on either utrogestan or cyclogest pessary only and I bled day 8/9 of the TWW. Then the last two rounds I have been on one lubion and cyclogest pessary and the bleed would start on day 10/11. I have asked for prontogest for my 6th ivf

I know this treatment is for osteoporosis and not PMR but I’ve been offered this treatment as I’m over 65 and I’m on the cusp of being osteopenic and my bone fracture score is now just above 10.. Recently my rheumy said that the results of my dexascan were some of the best he had seen for someone on

Methotrexate not Pred
After a few appointments with Rheumatologist who was adamant I did not have PMR, he agreed to a CT scan with contrast. The result was likely PMR or large joint arthropathy. I was put back on a short course of Pred while starting Methotrexate as a longer term med. I am in contact now with Rheumatology

Use by Dates and Prednisolone
I have a prescription of unopened 1mg gastro-resistant Prednisolone tablets. They've been kept in a cool, dry place but the expiry date is Oct 23. There seems to be mixed opinions from my research online as to whether you can continue to use Prednisolone after the expiry date, and for how long after

Prednisolone stopped
This is an epic day; my first day with NO PREDNISOLONE after a 5 year journey with PMR. I feel quite nervous and wonder what the next few months will be like. I have reduced extremely slowing, particularly over the last 2 years and it took me 3 attempts to get below 3mg, but once there, I seemed to

I am currently on

for several more years according to my research.

Chest Infection and Adrenal Insufficiency
So, I've had multiple hospital attendances recently due to this Chest Infection. Was put on antibiotics, but had an Asthma Exacerbation anyway so attended again as home nebulisers weren't enough. So asked if I should add Prednisolone on top of my Hydrocortisone. No one knows the answer. And I don't know

what are the chance of a PMR flare up?

When do you stop Actemra
I am down to 4 mg of
prednisone
with no real pain. I really would like to stop the Actmera due to the side affects. At what point is it okay to stop it?

Appendicitis and PMR?
I’m 67, have well controlled PMR and take 5mg of Prednisolone. I have been on a low carb diet because of a diagnosis of pre diabetes. On occasion I have been feeling tired recently and put that down to the change of diet. Ten days ago I got severe stomach cramps and a temperature and went to the GP

Short of Breath
Just wondering if
Prednisone
will have any affect on the healing process? Surgery was 3/2 and still have throbbing pain and swelling. Worse since stitches came out and they added a cast.

Prednisone roller coaster ride over...and stable.
Anticonvulsants and
prednisone
do not like each other....the
prednisone
waters down the anticonvulsant and your brain feels like it is being punched around. Some of the days are not clear memories. It is like combining vanilla and baking powders....foam and fuzzy!

Very confusing
Dr. prescribed Omeprazole ( Prilosec I think) and Ondansetron. After a few days of not much relief I decided that it started with
prednisone
and maybe that's where I should go for relief.
