SSRIs versus SNRIs for Depression and Anxiety
Has anyone had any success with SNRIs for their depression and anxiety? I don't understand how blocking norepinephrine would help at all. I had a report that says that I have short serotonin receptor genes and my psychiatrist wants me to try Pristiq which works 10-to-1 on serotonin versus norepinephrine

Concerned about TSH & T4 levels
My blood test results on 24/09/20 were TSH= 1.21 T4= 23.4. I was told to lower levothyroxine from 125mg to 100mg. Follow up test 25/11/20 TSH= 0.86 T4= 22.6. Text today said reduce from 100mg to 75mg levothyroxine. Does this seem normal? I havent been feeling great for a few weeks . Particularly in the

Living with PTSD
I served in Vietnam in 1966 and 1967. I was medically discharged in 1968 for medical problems related to being shot. When I returned home I had a hard time adjusting to being back in society. I had flashbacks and nightmares. In 1988 I went back to Vietnam as a tourist. I thought I would go one time and

Polyhydramnios
Has anyone had Polyhydramnios? I’m 33 weeks pregnant and my midwife is sending me for another growth scan tomorrow as I have excess growth. I had a growth scan at 31 weeks and was diagnosed with mild Polyhydramnios. But since then my measurements has nearly doubled in 2 weeks and is over the 95th percentile

Depression and anxiety
I have a teen 19 daughter away at college who I think may be experiencing depression and anxiety. She can’t explain why she’s feeling this way, why she’s crying or what triggered it. She’s currently seeing a counselor at her college weekly but it doesn’t seem to be helping. As a parent I feel helpless

Fed up and depressed further
Hi all, I have been through so many ups and downs for the last 16 years am so tired. I am literally fed up of everything that's been thrown at me. Anxiety, over thinking and depression are just eating and gnawing at my head and heart. Therapy and being with doctors and everything is going on. This page

A wave
In the middle of a wave of depression. Like the peak part. When you’ve

Hey guys, I’m new here. I am really really struggling right now. My suicidal thoughts are at an all time high, which is really saying something. My panic attacks and dissociation are worse than ever. They’ve even started affecting my work. I am an elementary school teacher and I love it, but the impossibility

Meet new people that are like me!
Does anyone here suffer from bad anxiety and PTSD ? I do and I am slowly overcoming the negative side of it. I think I will with time and was looking to find similar people to me that could share their experiences and get on with. sometimes it seems as if it’s just you out there going through it but

DEPRESSION COPING SKILLS
Hi! I started struggling with depression in January 2018. It was pretty mild looking back, although it didn't feel mild at all then and it came out of nowhere. That episode lasted until around April so I thought it was SAD. Until January 2019, when I had my first ever suicidal thought after my first

Antidepressants
Hi I have tried citalopram and sertraline for depression but neither of them worked. The GP now wants me to try an SNRI but I'm too scared because of the side effects and because of how I felt on the other antidepressants I really don't know what to do

16 weeks - teething?
Hi, I'm new to this so hope I'm posting this right! My little boy will be 16 weeks old tomorrow. For the past few weeks he's been really chewing his hands and dribbling - we thought maybe it was the start of a long teething process, or maybe just normal baby development. Today when I was changing
