Good News and Bad News
So going forward on 5th August I'm starting chemotherapy
Pemetrexed
and Carboplatin. Every 3 weeks for 4 sessions then reassessment has anyone had this combination and I would appreciate some advice. Also having Folic acid and B12 injections.

Seeking information & support re Pancoast Tumour.
Had my first cycle of Chemo (
Pemetrexed
& Cisplatin), and also Immunotherapy ( Pembrolizumab). Is there anyone out there in a similar situation? There seems to be very little info to be found, unless it's just me looking in the wrong places!

Stopped Pemetrexed due to pleural effusion.. now, Docetaxol
But now doctor has prescribed him Docetaxol in lieu of
Pemetrexed
. Does the effusion in any way indicate that there could be progression? Our next PET scan would not be before April or May.

Nivolumab effective treatment for malignant mesothelioma.
Malignant mesothelioma is an intractable cancer, and no phase III trial has yet shown an improvement in overall survival following the standard first line chemotherapy doublet comprising
pemetrexed
and cisplatin or carboplatin since it was licensed in 2004.

Positive news.
Doctor is now moving him to Maintenance therapy and has prescribed him 6 months of
Pemetrexed
+ Keytruda. Of course, uncertainty still exists, but this was the first positive news & sign of relief that we have had since he was diagnosed in August.

Chemo induced kidney problems
As a result I was not given
Pemetrexed
last time round (the carboplatin was being discontinued anyway) receiving only the Keytruda. A further blood test this week has shown that the creatinine levels have increased again.

Good CT Scan
I found the latest chemo regimen of carboplatin/
pemetrexed
to be especially difficult. Anemia is nothing to make light of. I hope my future
pemetrexed
maintenance therapy won't be as difficult.

Docetaxel
My husband had all 6 courses of Carboplatin and
pemetrexed
then maintenance of three courses of
pemetrexed
. This shrank his lung tumour but was stopped in January as his kidneys showed damage. CT scan in March showed tumour growing slightly and CT in July showed still growing.

My Mum part 4
Hello I have now found out the names of my mum’s treatment: chemotherapy drugs are carboplatin and
pemetrexed
, the immunotherapy is pebrolizumab. This seems to be a ‘standard’ or ‘first line’ treatment for stage 3b LC.

Sores in nose - chemotherapy
Apart from a runny nose with chemotherapy (Carboplatin/
Pemetrexed
) I'm also getting sores that are very similar to cold sores - tried betnovate cream, but not much good, then tried Zovirax which is better, but doesn't clear them and still forms scabs that bleed. It can be very sore and painful.

Maintenance chemo stopped
Because my husbands kidney test has come back too low (40), to continue his maintenence
Pemetrexed
or any other chemo, he has been told that he will now be monitored with three monthly CT scans to check his NSCLC is continuing to be stable.

Life after chemo...
Had 5 days of Radiotherapy on my right thigh bone (showed 72% chance of fracture) and then started chemotherapy in Mid-November (Cisplatin /
Pemetrexed
) and Denosumab injections to strengthen my bones. Had 5th chemo cycle last week, last one planned early March.

Been wanting to write this for awhile
In March or April 2019 I started: Immunotherapy - Keytruda Chemo -
Pemetrexed
-Alimta Chemo - Carboplatin - Paraplatin The brain tumors were shrinking and my lymph nodes but due to my being so neauseated and dizzy they wanted to keep me on Immunotherapy only so my quality of life would get better,

Sticky eyes on chemo
Hi My husband has now had his 6th course of Carboplatin and
Pemetrexed
and is due to carry on with maintenance
Pemetrexed
. He started to get sticky eyes (not infected) from about course 3. It has got steadily worse, especially when he wakes in the morning.

First chemo
We are being treated with
pemetrexed
and Carboplatin. We are wanting to know what to expect in the upcoming weeks. Our doctor will follow up in the next couple of days to ensure the treatment is working.

LDH markers
He has now been put on Carboplatin and
Pemetrexed
. After his last (2nd) dose of that his bloods showed an increase in LDH. Stupidly I Googled what this meant and from what I can understand it means his tumour load has increased. I'm scared that this is an indication that the chemo isn't working.
